my exp bar is stuck

i have a full shadowbringers edition, up to date, subscription active and i'm currently nearing the end of ARR's extra patches but my level seems to be unable to grow from level 54. nothing i do seems to give me any exp not FATEs, not quests, not MSQ, not dungeons and trials and not even fighting mobs. how can i fix this?

The only thing I can think of that would cause this by design is the following scenario.

You have registered the base game and all expansions on platform A.
You have registered only the base game on platform B.
You have leveled beyond the level cap of the base game on platform A.
You have logged out of platform A and logged in on platform B.

However, recent changes have made "the base game" include Heavensward and a Lv60 cap, so this must not be your issue.
(I know, this isn't your problem, but in the future someone might search and find this thread because they are having this problem, and they will see this.)


You should visit the in-game bugs forum and post there. Make sure you read the sticky thread and follow the instructions there to the letter. They are notoriously dismissive of reports that do not conform to those instructions.

You will experience this near the end of each expansion. All the post-ARR stuff is designed for level 50 characters, so at level 54 your exp gains are significantly diminished. You should start earning exp normally again once you're into the next expansion.

Oh great... I created a new character on a world in need to test the new quests. I have just done Brayflox (normal, the lev 32 dungeon) and my character is already level 52 with some 170 gear...
They throw so much XP at you it is ridiculous
