No more button mashing ATEs. Ever. They're irredeemable.

The Active Time Events of button mashing are bad gameplay. Period.

1) If you fail, the entire game grinds to a halt.

2) Succeeding at an ATE is not interesting. At all. Ever. The second ATE is same damn thing as the first. (And, with weekly resets, you get to do mindless button mashing again...and again...and again...)

(And the new trial manages to make a completely terrible thing even more terrible by making it so that if one person fails the ATE, everybody fails.)

Stop making them. Stop spending developer time on something that only makes your game worse.

Yep, wipe on QTE makes the shallow battle system even poorer.

QTE would be slightly more pertinent with secondary content like quests (well, quests are so bad, anything will make them better...), used sparingly of course.
or Aquapolis (QTE to keep the door open)
But not during battle which should be won or lost depending on supposedly intricate game systems and player decision. Using QTE for boss battle is sabotage.
