    Terncliff [Werlyt Spoilers]

If you have not completed the latest shadows of Werlyt questline and you do not want to be spoiled please tern back.

Bad pun aside you have been warned.

Terncliff is a BEAUTIFUL city state and I want it to be expanded upon. If this is the first place we start in when we get our Ilsabard expansion, color me interested. The Greek cliff side inspiration is very well done. In fact I may say that it would be my favorite city state design to date.

It would not be the first time a solo instance became a regular town itself. The Doman Enclave became a town after it's initial patch debut.

I hope after the Werlyt storyline is over that it is not all we see of this beautiful place. Perhaps due to the nature of the patch cycle it will continue to grow into an actual zone. I could see 5.4 allowing a little bit more background behind it, with 5.5. using it as an alliance staging point for Garlemald. It seems like the populace would be keen on supporting the alliance based on resistance NPCs and the residents interactions with them.

Such a great location, would be a waste for it to just be used in one patch and that's it. They basically created a city half of a city state, would be a shame not to complete it. The only question is, would they use it again in 6.0 even though it's part of 5.0?

I think they could. The lore states that the Garleans took it to mine for their airship industry. Its obviously an important player in eliminating the Garlean threat. It also seems to help that it's people fought and failed at liberation. It's in a similar situation that Ala Mhigo and Doma were in, and it is ripe for saving. Plus it would give us a clear and easy entry point for our own air ships, which has been a major problem even up to now. Doma had to build an energy wall as a temporary solution to that problem. Barely anyone can get to Ilsabard because of the constant threat of a great number of Garlean ships.

If I were to hazard a guess the only hope of Terncliff becoming its own zone is if it's connected to the rest of the Ilsabard expansion / weapon questline or has a large player support for its expansion into full city. Plenty of cool zones trapped behind instances still.

After the treatment of the other cities in FFXV, I would find an abandonment of Terncliff from the devs to be disheartening. Tenebrae, Solheim, and other places that weren't expanded on or touched on enough were extremely disheartening and I'd like to see that as little as possible from now on In this series. If it's barely relevant and isn't going to be used later, I most likely do not want to see it.

I know that XV is not XIV, but how XIV acts going forward WILL affect how games under the Square Enix banner are treated and developed going forward. Companies do evolve and regress on things overtime. I only pray that this game is handled well into the future.

I also see this city as a test for Thavnair. Same architecture so the assets don't go waste.
We'll see though, that area is so well designed for it to just be a test or part of a mini story and that's it.

I sat in front of the Thavnair Consulate and then promptly went to Tirncliff. What I found was that though they have a few similarities, they are remarkably different. Thavnairs roofs are a deeper blue while Tirncliffs are much brighter in pigment. They both have a dome like structure in their building style, but the Thavnairians seem more octogon in design than the circular Tirncliff buildings. Then if you look at the walls themselves, the Tirncliff buildings are way simpler than the ornate Thavnairian ones. Even the color is a different rock. I don't think it's quite as similar as you would think.

Good find. This could be one of those things where instead of going to Garlemald proper 6.0 will be all about its colonies. What we've seen of Garlemald is not something I'd personally make an expansion around. Metal junk buildings and snow.
Compare Garlemald to Terncliff and I'd definitely rather be there than in Garlemald. This could be the first expansion where we get 3 new city states (if you count places like Eulmore as a city state).
I also noticed how the townspeople there are wearing clothing made specifically for them, nothing re-used from what we can wear (maybe a few pants here and there).

But Thavnair isnt a Garleon province they are the only nation besides Hingashi to have a peacful resolve due to thier resources...but i have reason to believe this peace will be broken very soon due to whats become of the most sensible people in Garlemald now run by Charles Manson and his imaginary friend
