    Yeah I am not sure what they are thinking with how they do the expert and 80 queues. It gets stale extremely quick. You have so many instances in Shadowbringers but people only see 2 of them in the expert queue?

    That is such a strange design decision.

    I would say yes to combining expert and 80 if it weren't for the fact Amaurot exists. They should really separate 50/60/70 roulette into 3 different roulettes. I understand the reason for it being one roulette is to maintain the 'tomestone economy' but what economy is there when all it gives is Phanta and Poetics anyways? Even then, the bonus as it is is irrelevant unless you're actively farming Phanta or Poetics for one reason or another. People just looking to cap will just do whatever gives Allegory and doesn't take too long.

    This has been a problem in every expansion and has just gotten worse as time went on, honestly thought they learned when we had 3 in the Expert at a time this expansion but nope 5.2 came around and we went down to the coin flip again.

    Personally speaking Expert should have all lv80 dungeons in it and the ilv requirement start as the lowest and as you increase you get access to more, this opens it to ilv cheesing but they yet to sort Alliance out so meh.

    Your idea of a weekly random dungeon run sounds fun and not much pressure put in a cute minion and people will do it for ages.

    I'm someone who goes back after unsync is a thing to see what I can get away with in dungeons(I like being able to handle lv70 dungeons on my Dnc now ^^) so I still jump in from time to time but the 50/60/70 roulette definitely needs some tweaking because it is by far the least used.

    Adding them is correct. But the roulette is 15, and most of the 80 dungeons give 20 (30 for Grand Cosmos).
    Which is still less than 50.

    I know they have the data somewhere to see what dungeons are continually popular, but I'd honestly just lump all the dungeons together into a single giant pile and go random from there.

    If there is a need to split it, I'd say have a single roulette for the last expansion or two. (so 61+ or 71+ currently) and another for "Everything else".

    Ideally it'd keep wait times down on the most current content, but who knows.

    Also, I'd say rename the trials to make sense of it:
    Trials in story mode (the early 4 mans) get called that (so "Bowl of Embers: Story Mode")
    Subsequent Trials drop the silly "Extreme" or "Savage" and just get stars (so HM is 1 star, EX is 2, if they decide to add more like Savage, go 3 stars and so on)

    Each language has a different goofy name for the different tiers of trial which don't make sense. And there isn't even a normal mode for many trials which is, again, goofy.

    ...ideally I'd love this easy "star" system to also be applied to dungeons, since it opens up the possibility of having a 3rd run in certain dungeons..assuming they ever decide they want more than 1 dungeon per major patch. Would be easy to recycle older "tilesets".

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    The problem there is people will ultimately just blitz whatever is the easiest/best reward for time. So if all categories give the same reward, the majority of people will only do ARR. If the rewards increase per expansion, then people would only do the newest series.

    Either way you leave holes with huge wait times in whatever expansion is least desirable.

    Then we get to the purpose of roulette to begin with: the XP is just a carrot for players to help new players get through their own personal progression and to keep dungeons “active content”. Or people trying to do a specific dungeon for whatever reason.

    This is the biggest issue. Why does 50/60/70 give so much less than Leveling and Alliance?

    Personally I think they should merge 50/60/70 and Leveling into a single roulette and let us do it twice per day. (and roll Ifrit/Titan/Garuda normal into Trial roulette while we're at it.)
