I'd like to actually hear from someone with a physical disability directly related to failure of this trial rather than having us theorycrafting about what sorts of problems they have. So far there's been a few people who have mentioned they have physical pain due to this, but I haven't seen their response regarding a (fairly cheap) tool that would help immensely. For ANY game, not just FFXIV.

You obviously did not read the discussion from the very beginning, instead of theorycrafting. So real quotes from real people:

I can rest my hand between each button press and so long as I'm not whacking the keys like an idiot, I almost never have an issue. Hell while there are classes in this game that are hard on the hands like MCH, the vast majority of them do not cause repetitive stress build up on the joints because most of this game isn't set up in such a way that button mashing is necessary. Barring of course a few unskilled QTE sections that are the outliers and not the rules in content. That's like saying that because you can't do a 100 yard sprint that you aren't capable of walking every once in awhile and is so laughably absurd it's comical.

Quick, repetitive stress motions are different from clicking a button every two seconds, with the occasional weave. The latter I can do with some athletics tape to stabilize my wrists and the occasional pain pill. The former I'm in tears over because it's actually causing a stress injury.
    Still not enough?

And I've posted about it as well, in that I don't like the implication of needing to buy a controller for a game I've already put money into. Particularly when before my tried and true method for avoiding pain was legitimately until a good time after any game's release to find out how accessible it really is and subsequently avoid any that didn't meet fairly benign standards. That feels fairly insidious to me to say 'well just go buy some expensive merch because you're not going to stop playing over one QTE'. When conversely the game could literally just go back to the standard it was keeping before hand and not cause me to shell out extra money just on the off-handed chance I get stuck in that trial again.

It's also just flat out bad game design and admitting as such when you say 'well just use this outside service to get through this mechanic'. I shouldn't have to shell out money for a new controller I'll never use in any other circumstances (because again I do actually research what games have horrible accessibility standards and don't give them my money) or download an autoclicker just to get through it.

You may have ignored my message, but I will ask a new question, why do you need to deal with other people's finances, it is not expensive for you or not expensive in your country. Somewhere not, for others not. And the game has its own background, as it was simplified, we do not leave the framework of the game. If a game that has been redesigned for a casual audience requires third-party costs for casual content, then the game is poorly designed.

I like ATEs, I just hate the idea of everyone failing a duty because one person fails. I also dislike the ATE in the current new trial, because it goes for something like 13 seconds.

Just keep the ATEs manageable. That's all I ask.

And we ask the SE to rework this mechanic: either let one die if 6 people completed it, or as it was in the early versions of the mechanic. Someone complained that it is not clear who is to blame, and yes, this is bad, but if you add the appearance of this, then there will be soil for bulling, and the person will be kicked for trying, and the circumstances are not important.

Honestly.... after doing this fight again randomly tonight. I'mma make the case it's not the QTE that's the real wiper. nope... there's something NOONE is talking about. The tank LB3. At this stage there's still people who don't know about it. We wiped 3 times cause the timing for that is so tight. Noone failed the QTE in this btw... and there were newbies to the fight too.

And the REAL reason I did it just now... people had a ball at my name. Memes were made, jokes were had, hugs were thrown. All in all a good time. I say that to say this. This topic got heated but lets remember this is just a video game and while I may disagree with changing the fight itself I'm not saying people don't have the right to ask for it for whatever reason. doesn't mean I have to agree... but if SE changes it it's whateve. Lets just try to keep the fun alive you know?

It's funny that for 99% of the MSQ, tanks were never allowed to touch LB. From the first dungeon all the way up to and including Heroes Gauntlet, LB was for DPS only (with occasional Healer LB3 if need be).

I don't have LB on any of my bars on any of my tanks, since I am never allowed to use it as per our great FFXIV Community. Now tanks have to be able to use LB and time it to something for one trial for the first time ever (assuming they have never used it in other events, like me).

Honestly, the wipes are justified. Maybe if everyone didn't leave the LB bar solely to DPS so they can anime the boss at the last 5%, tanks would know how to utilized it for something like this.

As for the topic, as someone with a motor skill deficiency, I used a controller and passed on the first time with no pain and no exhaustion. I am sure I could have done it like the other QTEs of rolling another body part across the keyboard. I mainly play with a controller since my motor skills for thumb usage isn't as deficient as normal keyboard use. Just typing normally on a keyboard bothers me more than that QTE ever did.

LB was used by tanks earlier, on a mandatory basis in the 12th raid of Alexander
