Let's be real and talk about the Marid in the Room: Cleaning up the PF

Hey all. It's been a hot topic on Primal's party finder...ads, literally begging others to please be considerate and have just one ad for their RP venue... instead of three saying the same thing back to literal back. Pesky run-sellers who use "Expert Roulette" to sit at the top of the PF tenfold, again half of whom are probably on the same crew. Anyone else tired of scrolling for a long time though that stuff to find anything worth your time? Or just wishing for a better organization system...maybe?

Well, I don't know. All I know is Party Finder as is...pretty clogged. Wondering if there's a better way they can sort the thing or dissuade people from using Expert to advertise by sitting on top. I know you can filter, I know you can blacklist, you can search, or change settings...but man usually people just wanna open the party finder late on a Friday night and join something fun on a whim. They don't wanna be sold a product (a lot of which probably breaks ToS behind the scenes ) or have to see the same RP venues every single night. Maybe create a section in PF specifically for RP, so those interested can just look there, and it can exist without people feeling the need to advertise 20 times? Maybe more unique options is the answer to solving this problem happily for all? Ugh, I don't know, it's just a problem I know many of us in the community are subconsciously sick of. It's casually become very accepted and "the norm." Thoughts? Maybe we can see a change

I wish that the blacklist could be increased. Then I'd BL every person that blatantly put their ad in the wrong location on purpose. Or allow keywords to be blocked, "sell, discord," or allow blacklisting of entire FCs.

I'm also fine if there's specific tabs dedicated to ads, recruitments, rp stuff.

It's weird because allowing us to blacklist people easier for their ads, acknowledges that the PF has a problem however square isn't actually willing to do anything to combat the problem more effectively.

And lets be real, 99% the sell runs with discord are RMT and should lead to insta ban. Also... dont let it be ilvl 999... there is a tab for sell runs, advertise there if you have to and "other" for selling houses/rp etc...

Ik its sill but it annoys me so much to see all the wrong sorted stuff... And just maybe prevent having more then 9-10 PF's of the same thing, we dont need 15 with one dps+heal or tank just cause they want 15 ilvl more lol

i mean you could add more filtering tabs but sellers/promoters are still going to use the category that shows up first by default regardless so they can be seen right away. can't really win.

I'm quite shocked that in a game (and various other mmos for that matter) have a large community for roleplayers; Square needs to make tabs for RP specific purposes...literally that shit would be used up in an instant for communities to find one another without clogging other things in PF other players are trying to seek. This would at least cover the advertisements for things, whatever they may be advertising for.

For other quest PF related things, they still need to have another tab(s) to help filter things a bit better.

As for RMT...well they do that sh!t on purpose for the most part.

It's definitely getting to be a bit much. I've been wanting to run treasure maps recently since new items were added as rewards - so I keep an eye on the PF to see if the treasure map tab lights up. Yet when it does, it's often just people misusing it to advertise unrelated things.
