Apologies if this is in the wrong place (and I do not intend to spoil the content).
The button mashing phase for this trial is unforgiving. It's hard to maintain on a mouse and I think should be shortened by a couple of seconds.

While I generally agree, one thing that might be at least a short-time fix: You dont need to use the mouse for this. You can just smash any button on your keyboard, even several at the same time - which is what I've been doing for all those QTE after I realised that I dont need to keep clicking the button on the screen. Just smash your keyboard!
I agree it is completely unforgiving. Even when I mash my keyboard's spacebar as hard and as often as I can, I can't hold it up for as long as is required.
I have to add, I've had no problems with the previous QTEs. I can do those fairly well. But the one in the Seat of Sacrifice is way too brutal. It really should be shortened by a couple of seconds.

Its the final duty of the shadowbringers story, a little bit of a test shouldnt hurt in my honest opinion. Says me who hasnt done extremes and savage let alone ultimates.
Besides. I think struggling against fate is what probably is best represented with a qte like this.
Nonetheless i can understand the frustration..![]()
Except... this doesnt really feel like an appropriate test within the gameplay of this game to me - smashing a button isnt really a test of any kind of skill (except smashing a button very fast...) and its specifically not a kind of skill this game usually asks of you. FFXIV is pretty slow for the most part and the tested skills are more along the lines of memorizing or recgonizing patters and responding appropriatly. Its usually way more elegant - smashing a button is something a toddler could do.Its the final duty of the shadowbringers story, a little bit of a test shouldnt hurt in my honest opinion. And it can be infact harm- or hurtful for those who have issues with their hands - and might picked a very slow job (like WHM or BLM) specifically because they cant click that fast. Since one person failing means its a wipe there isnt even a way around for them.
As someone who is dabbling in Savage, I dont think this is a good or fair test of your skill in regards to this game.
I planned to post here just to suggest that. Nice to see I'm not the only one dual-wielding mice.
My partner instead does what someone else mentioned, just hitting multiple keys on the keyboard.
It's really not that difficult, and it's not a new mechanic either. Especially since you know it's coming when it tells you it's an Active Time Event or whatever it's called, then gives you a second or two to react. If your reaction time is that poor, you may want to take some time to practice.
I know it's not a new mechanic. I have no issues the previous QTE events. I can do those, but this one lasts longer and is much more brutal. We wipe if one person fails, where in previous events if one person failed they just died and they wouldn't hold back the entire party.
What is the timing for the tank LB3? Sometimes its too early and quite more difficult timing than Alexander tank LB3.
The QQTE is an illusion. It's first 75% are like only 10% of the total value. The drain slows down when you hit 25% rest and is easyly maintainable from there.
Also it is easy to maintain 100% bar value for keyboard users and even for caontroller users it shouldn't be to hard with d-pad and all buttons to use.
I think the "unforgiving" part is more so the fact that if one person can't do it, everyone wipes. Whereas any other fight it was if you missed you died and someone got you when they could after.
