Thread: Unexpected error 6d after installing patch 5.3

Hello, It's been a while since I have last played, literally cleared the 5.2 content then went on hiatus for a bit. I am having trouble launching the game after patch 5.3. After installing the patch, when I click play in the launcher I get the following message "An unexpected error occurred. Exiting FINAL FANTASY XIV.(6d)" I have scoured the forums and some results from google, but none of the solutions offered have worked so far, including reinstalling, disabling steam and geforce overlays, uninstalling wallpaper engine because it pings the anticheat system for some reason, changing to directx9, reverting to an old launcher, running both steam and ffxiv as an admin, launching through geforce experience, updating all of my drivers, and going into the documents tab of my computer and deleting the ffxiv files there so they can reinstall. The only solution I have found so far is to create a completely new user on my PC and launch ffxiv through there, however, this only works until I shut down my computer, then the message appears on that user as well. I feel like I have exhausted my resources at this point and was hoping someone might have found a solution I haven't seen yet. Thank you!

Are you able to provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

I, too, am once _again_ unable to play this game due to this error (An unexpected error has occurred. exiting Final Fantasy XIV.(6d)). I've tried many of the same steps as the user above.

I am navigating to 'System Information' and clicking on 'Display' but nothing is happening - nothing is popping up or displaying.
