Test them and see. If you stack in one stat it will be obvious which one is the correct one as the success rate will be a lot higher. All similar items use the same stat... so all Fingerless Gloves use one stat, all Pattens use one stat, all Kecks use one stat, etc.
I vote just testing with MH vs. OH, it is usually a noticable difference in success rates and quality/progress gain per attempt. Its easy enough to figure out this way if a recipe is of the Craftmanship or Magic Craftsmanship type. From there stack the appropriate thing.
Am I supposed to test MH and OH Craft and M.Craft for all these thousands of recipes?

I mean, unless offhand tool stats stack with mainhand stats, which the UI implies that they do not:
What purpose do luminary tools have for having both mh & oh stats on them?
Luminary tools are then good for every recipe (unless you want quantity over quality as will still be provided by OH on some recipes).
But every recipe today (not counting dated junk) bases HQ on mainhand tool and mass production on offhand tool. thats why I ask.
Gear synths can be +1'd with OH tools, and some are better done with them because of the stats. Most notably some jewelry, some masks and some shoes. Those are just the things I know of off-hand.
