    What is the benefit of this though? You will lock out any player that isn't up to date with the latest gear. For the sole purpose of making runs MAYBE easier in groups with members that struggle with the content but are also over geared for it?

    You don't need gear for the fight to be easier, that can be accomplished with the group being partly competent.
