SO are we going to get a more dynamic world in 2.0?
I also don't wanna read stuff on the loadstone, I want them in game. So, just make a newspaper in game, it's stupid how I get most lore and story on the loadstone than in the game.

Rokien, you're a monster and you've ruined 2.0 for me. Unless there is a full blown goat vs sheep battle royal I'm going to be disappointed.
Since the thread was already revived by Rokien's magic. I'll just add this:

Starr Long, the game's associate producer, explained in 1996:
Nearly everything in the world, from grass to goblins, has a purpose, and not just as cannon fodder either. The 'virtual ecology' affects nearly every aspect of the game world, from the very small to the very large. If the rabbit population suddenly drops (because some gung-ho adventurer was trying out his new mace) then wolves may have to find different food sources (e.g., deer). When the deer population drops as a result, the local dragon, unable to find the food he’s accustomed to, may head into a local village and attack. Since all of this happens automatically, it generates numerous adventure possibilities.
However, this feature never made it beyond the game's beta stage. As Richard Garriott explained:
We thought it was fantastic. We'd spent an enormous amount of time and effort on it. But what happened was all the players went in and just killed everything; so fast that the game couldn't spawn them fast enough to make the simulation even begin. And so, this thing that we'd spent all this time on, literally no-one ever noticed – ever – and we eventually just ripped it out of the game, you know, with some sadness.[11]
If it didn't work in UO, I wouldn't get my hopes up for XIV
i want an adventure toooo!!!!
I truly just eant the same experience i had with xiv when it came out. I was one of those rare people that were mostly content woth the game upon release and loved the beta and launch. I hope 2.0 doesnt ruin most of the things i love about xiv.
I trust the devs tho ^^

Ultima Online was so head of its time. Considering it was basically the first western MMO.
This would take an unbelieveable amount of time, money and people, so....no.
I'm 100% sure it won't happen although it's not like I didn't dream of stuff like that in pretty much every MMO I ever played.
But more immersion is really needed.
More..danger and more rewards to exploration.
I hated it when the antlings killed me on my way from Ul'dah to Gridania, I hated it when I was Lvl 22 and fought a cactuar on lvl 20 which used 1000 needles on me and onehitted me.
But hey, I also enjoyed it, because it made the world feel more dangerous to me.
Monsters running away and following one around - more alive.
In FFXIV, you can already see an incredible love to detail, bring it to the maximum and show us how alive the world can be (like the little frogs in Gridania who only come out in the rain).
Also, reward exploration for god's sake =.=
And when I say reward I don't mean Gil or Equipment.
I mean that if someone takes the effort to crawl up that lvl-80-aggro-monster-infested mountain, at least give him the view of his ingame-life for it and an awesome screenshot location with the whole land laying in front of him instead of surrounding the top with rocks so the adventurer can't see anything.
Don't block off interesting locations like the aether factories with fences.
Put special berries or quests or whatever in remote locations. Even with our gaming culture of showing everything to other players, even when it's not a "secret" quest anymore, it will still be special to get there, still be special because not everyone will want to make the effort to get there.
I really hope they don't forget about the dangers and rewards which make an adventure an adventure when designing the new maps for 2.0, because no matter how beautiful and diverse those new maps are, they will still be boring and bad if they are as lifeless and static as the ones we have now.
I don't think we'll have much to worry aboutI truly just eant the same experience i had with xiv when it came out. I was one of those rare people that were mostly content woth the game upon release and loved the beta and launch. I hope 2.0 doesnt ruin most of the things i love about xiv.
I trust the devs tho ^^I'm having a blast with the game right now, and I only just signed up! I'm not really a fan of the maps, but I know those will be fixed soon. I'm just focusing on the story and having a great time with my social Linkshell. The atmosphere is brilliant and we help eachother out whenever needed. It's cheerful, laid back, and we generally just have a good time. I know those moments will keep coming, and I can't wait to see what will happen once the 7th Umbral Era is over. Hopefully Ishgard, Sharlayan and Ala Mhigo are on the horizon!
This just in! There will be a Goat vs Sheep trailer at E3. Look forward to it!
