We can hope! After homogenisation it can easily go the other way again. We'll just have to wait and see.
As for the topic: I personally found NF rather clunky to use as it was before the patch. Having to hop into the mindset of checking which party member to heal before I dish out my Fell Cleaves so that I can get healed felt more disruptive to me than anything, and, since I don't rely on macros, it just seemed a tad tedious. Now I can pop NF as I would Bloodbath -- for whenever I need self-heal -- while still keeping an eye out if anyone in the party needs a leg up. In short: it feels much more streamlined now, and I'm liking it.
Edit: I should add that "streamlined" is perhaps not the best choice of descriptors. I'd say NF is less restrictive now, seeing as you can use it independently of your party members whilst still retaining the option of using it on them should you need to. When a skill's manner of usage is diversified in this way, I find it infinitely more enjoyable to play with.
