    Why was Nascent Flash changed?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining - it's a very welcome change.

It just feels kind of pointless for group play?
The way I use the move is not any different from how I used to used to apply, I always select a target(often a healer or anothertank) as usual.

Was it adjusted for solo applications?
It definitely makes a difference there is that is the case.
WAR is now my defacto solo play tank, ahead of even PLD now.

You're now able to use it when completely solo in instances is all. I suppose there would also be edge cases where all available targets are out of range in a group as well, but that'd be very rare.

on controller it's much smoother to use now imo. it's just a little change but to me it made a huge difference.

I play on controller too, I just never found it troublesome to toggle up or down on the DPAD.
    Too each their own, however.

Making it usable while solo is huge, but also when you're in 4-man situations you often don't need the Glint part. Not having to deal with targeting a party member makes it much easier to use.

The change was more likely than not so it can be used in Solo content, like a bunch of quests and what not...

dragon sight for example did the same

now warrior has come full circle again and reverted to 2.0 marauder complete with bloodbath or nascent flash as you know it

oh wait, still no fracture or brutal swing :/

We can hope! After homogenisation it can easily go the other way again. We'll just have to wait and see.

As for the topic: I personally found NF rather clunky to use as it was before the patch. Having to hop into the mindset of checking which party member to heal before I dish out my Fell Cleaves so that I can get healed felt more disruptive to me than anything, and, since I don't rely on macros, it just seemed a tad tedious. Now I can pop NF as I would Bloodbath -- for whenever I need self-heal -- while still keeping an eye out if anyone in the party needs a leg up. In short: it feels much more streamlined now, and I'm liking it.

Edit: I should add that "streamlined" is perhaps not the best choice of descriptors. I'd say NF is less restrictive now, seeing as you can use it independently of your party members whilst still retaining the option of using it on them should you need to. When a skill's manner of usage is diversified in this way, I find it infinitely more enjoyable to play with.

Imagine a party of 1 warrior, 1 WHM, and 2 ranged DPS who love to stay as far away as possible.

Nascent Flash was useless in that context.

Also, yes, it was adjusted to be usable in solo play.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
