Oh I already took my Gunbreaker into several dungeons and trials all I ask from people is they tell me dangerous mechanics and I'll focus on them. I personally feel like Gunbreaker is not that bad tbh. Pretty straight forward rotations of single target or aoe with a tight nit group of defensive ability's to space out.

Over all I'm very happy I swapped Job's since Gunbreaker hits super hard and grants me faster queue times so over all I'm a happy camper.
I also been doing pretty good in 4v4 Feast as well. My Fc helped me learn a few things and I'm pushing into Silver rating quickly

I’m learning GNB now and instantly feel in love, too. I played PLD to level 60 on my old avatar just to have a tank to swap if needed, but none of the three ever fully clicked at higher levels. I’m a (former?) healer main, and something about GNB feels so satisfying and the tank anxiety really isn’t there anymore.

I guess since GNB feels so much like a melee verses a tank, it’s easier to pick up?

If you're super new to tanking, it might even be worth going back to the hall of the novice and doing that to learn the basics, you might pick up a few things that you cant get by simply observing other people play it.

    A few things on Gunbreaker:

You want to , under all circumstances, have a cartridge ready to go at all times, no matter what. This is so you can use Gnashing Fang and its combo on cooldown, and will give you the most damage/potency. Always hit Gnashing fang on cooldown, except if there's a TON of targets like a dungeon.

If Gnashing is down, use burst strike, but only to avoid overcapping on carts, this is given by your solid barrel combo: Keen, Brutal, Solid.

Let healers know you intend to use Superbolide to invuln a pull before you do it, so they can let you get low, invuln, and then heal you so they don't waste healing.

Use aurora on CD either on yourself, or the other party members.

Always use No Mercy right before using Gnashing Fang, make sure that you include your two damage over time skills in this as well, and as many burst strikes as possible.

If there are a ton of targets, you should still be using Gnashing Fang combo to focus at least 1(along with Danger/Blasting Zone), maybe 2 targets, depending on how fast the trash pulls die of course, so that way you take less damage because their is 1-2 less targets to deal with.

Alternate between Solid Barrel combo for focusing down 1 target and get a cure barrier up from Brutal Shell, and Demon Slaughter combo for AoE damage(there are some tricks with this PBAoE combo that are very useful such as look away mechanics, using the PBAoE combo to generate resources faster before moving away from the boss based on the fight, etc.) in large groups as well. Fated Circle is mostly the AoE version of Burst Strike.

One thing to note is cartridge spenders do not interrupt combos and same Sonic Break, though you can only delay the combo for so long before you have to restart it.

Aurora and Heart of Stone you will mostly use on yourself in dungeons, but in 8 player content it depends on who is main tank or off tank.

Superbolide is one of those skills where you have to ask your healer if it's okay(even though it's your cooldown and not the healers though that be because of Living Dead being the worst invuln in the entire game) which could have easily been avoided if Aurora was a 1200 cure potency heal with a 200 cure potency regen for 18 seconds healers aren't given as much of a heart attack.

Healing in general generates enmity so Aurora will be generating a enmity over time as well so that way you don't lose enmity as much when building it as you pull.
