Stuck on FFXIV launcher screen

as said in the title, i load the launcher, then write my account information. the launcher returns to the FFXIV grey logo and hangs there. Nothing appears to be running in the background.

Any information on this situation? thanks a lot!

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

To prevent repeating previously attempted troubleshooting, what have you tried to alleviate the problem? Does this issue happen when Final Fantasy XIV is the only program running? Also, could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

pray forgive the time it took to reply as i rushed home during lunch to see if things changed, made that post, then went back to work. Out of curiosity, i changed the launcher back to it's old version and it worked. So i did not investigate the issue any further from there. I thank you for giving this threat attention though, it is very appreciated.

i also appear to be lacking in the posting info on what i did so here goes, the list of all i did which resulted in... nothing: run as admin, start the launcher from the other icons in the game folder. change the value of "BootVersionCheckMode" in the boot.cfg file to 1 from 0.. and back to 0 from 1. resetting the game settings , close the firewall and anti virus. close as many program as i could (though i dont usually have that much running... i believe) .

The only thing that worked was putting the old launcher (the black one) .

The same goes with starting the game altogether, even if it is now patched. From the new launcher, it doesnt work and the launcher will disply the grey FFXIV logo page. If i want to play the game, i need to stay on the old launcher. (so for the love of God dont discontinue it too soon!!!!!! I WANT TO KEEP PLAYING WITHOUT THAT HORRIBLE THING CALLED WINDOWS 10 !!!! (gods that OS thing makes me want to jump off a brige...) )
