Should people have to do a bunch of research and start asking around before knowing? No, they should be able to activate an account and jump in, SE have made this the most difficult way possible.

It would be much better if you had 1 fee and x number of slots on that fee, like pretty much every other well known MMO. It is a model which people are used to and are happy with.

Actually, I wouldn't play an MMO that limits my character to one class. Tried it twice and hated it. This is one of the big deals about XIV and is advertised on every piece of SE media regarding the game that you come across with the exception being the CE.

Also, this is modern gaming - a majority of people research before they buy. It's not like 1992 and 1986 (SNES/Genesis and NES/SMS) when boxart and Nintendo Power/Gamepro "sold" the game. People know what they're getting into nowadays...which is why the subscription base isn't growing. If you didn't know about the concept of what the armory system is (emphasis on the word "concept") then you are in the minority.
