    5.3 changes

    So we got the full list now.

    Whm you had nothing

    Sch you had mp reduction on succor

    Ast got a lot of mp reduction on its gcd heals and combust. Draw now gives 800mp (8%) which makes it better mp regeneration than assize and aetherflow (since get 1.6k mp every minute), Sleeve Draw rework makes things simpler(even easier to get full Divination) and halves the target switching in the opener while restoring 800mp as well, Neutral is still better in Diurnal than Nocturnal, Diurnal still remains best Sect for most content.

    So all in all, Get rid of Piety it is a pathetic stat that no healer wants now, Diurnal remains King, hoping this is where the buffs to Ast stop in ShB and enjoy playing what you want people \o/

    There's a bit of commotion over sleeve draw.

    If the tooltip in the patch notes is accurate, it now only gives 1 card instead of 3. I hope that isn't the case >.>

    This is 100% the case.

    Considering how far ahead of the other healers AST is, though, I doubt it will even be noticed. And in exchange, there's less RNG with divination, that is, sleeve draw guarantees you'll get 1 seal you didn't have.

    The AST MP buffs feel heavy at glance. I am worried that MP management is ceasing to be a mechanic of playing a healer where it feel MP is almost limitless.

    Sleeve Draw changes look like it's positive.

    It says draws a card. That’s 1.

    Sleeve draw shouldn’t be used for divination outside of opener anyway so I never got the issue with it.

    If this is the case that you can only get 1 card from it now then yes guaranteed 6% divination but a potential 8-10 cards using minor arcana at 8% each lost through the whole fight. So in 8 man content they have traded an 8% (1% on each character from the guaranteed 6% instead of the possibility of 5% divination) and you lose 2 cards at 8% single target each time sleeve draw is used.

    People can call it a buff all you want but it’s a nerf in raid damage.

    It’s nice having more mp to play with and I’ll be reworking my gear to have a lot less piety now to compensate for the sheer amount of mp regeneration ast will have but I feel
    It’s getting too simple to play and doesn’t require as much skill.

    I believe it is only 1 card now (the wording implies get 1 card of a seal you don't have unless have all 3 then it gives a random card)which makes the opener more consistent but lowers rDPS by a fair bit too.

    If however it remains 3 cards, welp, CONTROLLER ISSUES REMAIN AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED! , which I would hope SE would've done since it has been around since 5.0.

    My concern is how it will affect the consistency of divination in ast's opener.

    Because of how you can't gain a seal unless you or your target has already hit something, if the game fails to register that first seal, div will be off kilter from the rest of the parties buff window for the entirety of a fight. (unless you hold it til the next window which is equally terrible)

    On top of that, to have div ready for your opener, the party would need to wait to let ast's draw come off cd, which isn't very common outside of an organised party

    As far as controller issues, I can't say much. I'ma controller user (play on console), but i've never personally felt taxed by Sleeve draw

    This ^ all of this. I play cross platform started on PlayStation and still use controller (though am learning in and mouse) I had no issue with target selecting on controller. You have to do it with single target heals etc anyway so why would it be an issue?

    It really does, 1.6k mp back every minute with Draw, another 800 every Sleeve Draw, on top of widespread mp reductions, Ast mp management looks to be going from a skill ceiling to a skill floor.

    I'm taking the Sleeve Draw as a positive even if reduced number of cards from 3 to 1 as reducing the target switching was needed for controller players, it would make the new card system more tolerable for them.
