    Blacklist

We've all met people online that we didn't like. Trolls, players taking things too seriously, unpleasant personalities. I myself had the unfortunate experience of watching a Duty turn ugly as a rather rude DPS tried to kick our healer three separate times after verbally assaulting her. The blacklist feature is made for getting these people out of our lives, but all it does is mute them. It won't stop jerks like that. I suggest that it does.
What I suggest could be done with 4-10 lines of code. When a player enrolls into a Duty, scan the Blacklist. If a player on their blacklist is already signed up for that instance, or a player who has blacklisted them is in that instance, place them in a separate instance. It may slow up the line a little bit, but just think how much better it would be to play without a constant barrage of bologna from the guy you already muted. Because honestly, the only trolls I want in my dungeon are the ones I can kill.

The blacklist could definitely be better. It would be nice if there was some way to avoid other players (I know other online games already have that feature), and I wish there was a sort of sub-section of the blacklist for timeouts or something. When I'm doing business in a city, it's annoying to see the same person post their stupid FC recruitment message over and over. So I could blacklist them, but then they get lost among the bots and people I actually never want to see talk again, and I end up forgetting which is which. So it would be nice to also be able to time people out for say 24 hours and then they're removed.

I promise I'm not hijacking your post, I endorse your original idea as well, I just wanted to add that the blacklist could certainly be more robust than it is now, and could have your idea and mine to make curating your social experience a lot easier.

Oh that would be nice.. I had stalker issues. Even when blacklisted they come and stand in front of me when im crafting and sits close to me and stares.... I wish that if I blacklist someone they cant see my character anymore. Even in cities I could be standing in front of them and they wouldnt know.. plus the never see them in duties and PF as well. We can only hope...

Agreed. Blacklist definitely needs improvement. It would be nice to blacklist from player search too rather than having to wait for them to say something in chat. Like you said - you still run the risk of getting put in a party with people you want to avoid. I rarely do duty roulettes now because of it. I’ll either run stuff with FC, friends or Trust systems.

Rosengun, I agree but the only real way to stop trolls is by having stricter rules enforced by SE. You may eliminate 1 troll but more will show up over time. With new players joining every day, the number of trolls will also grow.

Doozer, could you change to /busy when in a city hub? I know it's not perfect but it's something I guess?

Lady_Venus, have you considered a name change? I know you shouldn't have to but it might give you the peace of mind?

Lolzfidget, seems as though you wish to blacklist people that haven't interacted with in game in any way. Don't let it stop you from enjoying the game. I used to act the same but I was just being petty.

We're paying to have fun. Make the most of it.

Having to name change cause someone is a Jerk, is not how this should be. Yeah. I too was bothered by the fact that even blacklisted their Toxic behavior does not stop.
They can still annoy you by standing close to you, making annoying emotes or what have you. They should be invisible to you when blacklisted and vise versa.

Improvement of blacklist system is very much desireable.

Those are all band-aid solutions to a much larger problem. Especially since one of those solutions literally costs the victim money, and doesn't guarantee the person will leave them alone if that individual has already accessed the victim's Lodestone page. The name may change but the url does not.

You're right though, we're paying to have fun, not be harassed or bombarded by recruitment messages, unwanted advances, etc. So we should have more at our disposal to be able to prevent undesirable interactions from taking place.

Changing names dosen't really do much since people can find you on Google by writing your old names (to some extent, it dosen't work if it goes too far back, tested it myself, I changed my name many times).

That being said, I do think the blacklist needs improvement.
