How is advertising RMT in party finder still not a bannable offense?

Every data center right now has probably 5-10 parties all advertising Ultimate and Savage clears. Not a single one of those is doing it for gil. You can't carry someone through Ultimates and you can't carry someone through Shiva they both require someone else piloting your account.

How is this still allowed? Xeno is not the first person to get banned for something they did outside of the game. They're clearly willing to ban people for doing stuff off platform. Why not ban people that advertise their discords in PF and then ask for hundreds of dollars for raid clears?

So, I've never seen any of these actually advertising for real money. I mean, we all know they are selling them for real money, but they do not advertise it in game for real money. SE can't prove they are, even though they are and that's how they can get away with it. It sucks. But it is what it is.

They seem to care about harassment issues since it's a hot topic outside the game. Meaning anywhere in any medium harassment can bring really bad PR.
While RMT and botting and such they turn a blind eye to because there's no bad publicity for random non-players to see. The only ones affected are the ones already paying.

If they actually bothered investigating all ToS violations off-platform, there are a lot of cheaters they could axe in the same manner as many people don't even bother trying to hide their in-game identity when it comes discussing such on forums, Discord, etc.

The double-standard they have for this stuff is annoying even if it is justified.

They're too busy combing the streams of people they dont like so they can ban them and ask for the deletion of the stream, without mentionning which stream or when.

But public ERP and RMT is fine because lel, their friends probably do both.

This legitimately made me upset. I'm biased a bit since Xeno is one of my favorite streamers, but this also shows the selectiveness of the issues SE will bother to actually seek out as well.

RMT PF advertisements? We sleep, cause that's handled on discord and not in game.

Out of context clip of a livestream that was broadcasted on a site with their own ToS and rules? REAL SHIT!

Xeno legit didn't even do anything in game. If the clip that was being passed around was the reason for his ban, then he was talking to someone in his twitch chat who was trolling him about healer DPS and how it's useless. And then proved said person wrong by DPSing a dummy as a WHM.

Yes, Xeno is "toxic", but that's his streamer Persona. Regardless, his ban is something we should all worry about whether you agree with it or not, as he was banned for an interaction complete outside the game. He wasn't even banned for harassment, he was banned for being "Vulgar". SO that means one out of context F or S bomb can easily get you at risk of getting your account strike'd with a warning or suspensions, which will never get removed unlike other games. The way SE is going around policing their players on other platforms is honestly scary and should not even be encouraged, specially since they ignore legit problems that are against ToS that have been a problem for years, such as botting, RMT, and ERP advertisements.

I doubt SE directly handles ToS breaks and customer service issues, those things are usually sent down to community management. Ever since NA servers have moved from Montreal to a more "progressive" place in California, customer service took a nosedive big time. I'm also fairly certain that the ToS changes that were made a bit before 5.0 got released was specifically made with letting GMs get away with anything in mind and were likely petitionned by "progressive" community management and sympatisers. After all, once you've demonised anyone wanting a skill-oriented environment where learning and improving is the norm as "toxic", banning is now justifiable.
At the moment, the ToS is worded in a way that lets anyone file a report for any reason and GMs can take actions and the banned player has no recourse to either appeal or even KNOW the offence, allegedly to protect the person making the report. There's people out there that sees that as neccesairy to combat harassment and they might have good arguments but its also a perfect setup for abusive crybullies (people who feign victimhood to attack their victims) to exploit and selectively harass players of the game.
It also had the nasty side effect of almost completely murdering the party atmosphere in any given duty, but especially 24 mans. I've ran dozens of those since 5.0 and from personal experience, hardly anyone talks anymore. Hardly anyone uses macros or ASCII art to shitpost. There's no banter, no sore losers bickering over loot that was rolled low, no celebration over close victories. Only "hello" and "gg". Finally, harassment and toxicity were defeated. Erpers can now "immerse" themselves in peace without being heckled at because they got friends in places who can just delete people they dont like. It -only- costed the soul of the game.

The stupidest thing is that they were telling him to "delete the offending clip" after they banned him, but refused to tell him which clip it was because of their asinine "no elaborating on offenses" policy that presumably exists to "protect" the people who reported the offender but mostly just makes it difficult or impossible for the offender to know what they actually did wrong.

The customer service is by the book to a fault and stuff like that is a perfect example of a time where they should've shown some flexibility.

That is not an excuse. If they can use a Twitch clip to ban someone they can use discord screenshots of RMT advertisements.
