    The community has been asking for accessible mid difficulty content for years. Something that is accessible but decently challenging. And we get it in the form of unreal trials.
    They specifically said "similiar difficulty" not "the exact same thing it was when you did it in crap gear and no idea about your class back in ARR and got trounced". Remember that we also have completely different toolkits than back then; so my money is on unreal trials being a little bit below actual extreme difficulty.

    Ilvl 430 is low, syncing it at 435 is low but that is the whole point of unreal trials, right? Besides, you get basically free 480 via normal raids, free 455 via Anamnesis and crafted 480 is dirt-cheap by now so it's not like having 460 instead of 430 flags you as an expert of your class.
    You get to max level, you get your artifact gear, supplement it with some drops from the 80s dungeons you had to go through for story anyway and then you can dip your toes in more challenging, current content. While Titania and Innocence are nice and alll, the fact that you don't get synced down and that it's old content means that experienced and geared players will steamroll it for you. Something that keeps its difficulty instead of getting steamrolled by BiS players or after 2-3 weeks of release is good practice for someone who thinks about getting into endgame content.

    Savage gear is useful in all content; you are not suddenly naked when getting synced. There is simply a cap to how much you need to grind to get the best stats and anything above will give you a bonus in endgame content but not everywhere. And allowing every type of content to be unlocked means that the gap between casual content and endgame content will grow even further (and it's already huge) because you will regulary see savage raiders steamroll it for you, making it even more difficult to make the transition.

    I think what folks are complaining about when they talk about needing to get new gear is that when you level sync equipment, the value of ALL materia slotted in that gear is reduced to zero. So, for a ilvl 435 capped fight, sure you can wear your ilvl 500 savage gear, but ilvl 430 gear will be BETTER, because you can actually make use of the stats from the materia you slot into it.

    I don't know if this fight is going to be tuned hard enough that overmelded 430 crafted gear will be necessary to clear it, but it's always irritating to have to carry around a full second set of gear to be optimal for a given fight.

    It's still a mystery to me why the devs didn't build the level sync system to sync materia along with the other stats on the gear. It would have saved folks an awful lot of trouble. As it is, folks progging Ultimate fights typically have to farm up a full set of the appropriate Savage gear first, which is a major annoyance (both the farming, and also having to manage the extra set of gear with limited inventory).

    I get that the Materia thing is somewhat annoying, I never disagreed with that.
    But some make it seem like having better gear is completely useless. It's not. Above a certain ilvl, you simply don't get better and that's not a bad thing at all because content already gets steamrolled way too much to make a decent transition between casual and endgame content.

    To me, this sounded more like "I want to steamroll more casual/ semi-casual content" instead of "I'm a dedicated ultimate raider that needs to care about optimal gear and doesn't like to farm a seperate gear set for every ultimate content" - because ultimate was never the issue to begin with here. It was mostly about an unreal trial that has a fairly low ilvl req and ilvl sync - most likely to make it accesible right from the start.
    And I very much doubt that optimal performance is what people will need or be after for a trial they do once per week for a neat little minigame.
    I get the issue with ultimate isync and I'm not looking forward to farming gear for UWU/ UCoB but not everything that gets synced is ultimate. Changing isync to appropriately calculate materia would be great but not syncing content is general? No. Absolutely not.

    Many did that with BA which was ileveled synced to 300. Many used the Eureka left side gear with Eureka bonus and overmelded ilevel 290 accessories and belt. I know it's what i did with my main and a number of my alts.
