    It's about world building that's why.

    Voidsent caves, plague infected ruins, and trudging through sewage and rot is what makes people so impressed with the WoL.

    I believe they're specifically referring to the aesthetics. The ARR dungeons are all terribly dreary and ugly places. Like the actual horror hole known as Haukke Manor.
