These kind of changes are an utter waste of time that hurts newer players in the long run, because you know... having to think while inside a dungeon = bad design.
I think it's a bit hyperbolic to suggest this will hurt new players in the long run. No one got stuck on Coincounter and said you know what? I'm just so bad I'm not going to inflict myself upon this game and quit right here. They either died and the rest of the party cleared it, learning nothing, or they moved on because it is an optional dungeon and still didn't learn anything. Same for Cutter's Cry.

I agree this doesn't add a whole lot of value, and I've never felt this change was needed, but to suggest the game is going to the dogs because of it? Nah. It was never a road block for anyone to progress or learn in the game so whether they add this or not matters very little.
