    Seriously, Cyclops enemies whole 'thing' has usually been their animation/castbar tells. They should have just made it slightly less fatal and apply a vuln, if anything. :|

    Unless people are doing FATEs the Coincounter might be the first Cyclops many players encounter in XIV so I don't really see the harm in adding this. Who is running AV for the enjoyment of Coincounter's iconic no indicator attacks anyway?

    It teaches sprouts a valuable lesson. Pay attention to boss' movements and attack names.
    Let's add telegraphs to Chimera's Ram's Voice/Dragon's Voice, while we're at it, eh?

    The telegraph also teaches sprouts, more clearly even, the difference between his swing and swipe. I mean I'm not for or against this because it's literally so insignificant, but how many times a day were you running AV where this is some great loss?

    Well, i assume from the patch notes, that all other cyclops type enemies are not affected. So, in essence this change accomplishes nothing really.
    P.S. My evil little black lala heart has to get kicks somewhere. Sometimes that just happens to be sprouts getting one shot by Swing.

    It teaches those that want to learn from it how to handle a Cyclops if this is the first time they see one, people who don't want to learn won't learn telegraph or no.

    Just for the record though, I agree that it accomplishes very little as there's not enough Cyclopes or un-telegraphed attacks for this to be a teaching moment. But it's AV, no one really likes running it anyway (if there's an avid AV lover out there though, I support you.) so "getting up in arms" about this feels a bit strange. They could remove the whole dungeon and no one (save for that lone AV lover, I know you're out there) would bat an eye.

    Considering that he is the only boss in that dungeon that is actually fun to fight, I'm going to raise my hand to that one.

    Are Chimera's voices in Cutter's Cry next?

    These kind of changes are an utter waste of time that hurts newer players in the long run, because you know... having to think while inside a dungeon = bad design.

    I think it's a bit hyperbolic to suggest this will hurt new players in the long run. No one got stuck on Coincounter and said you know what? I'm just so bad I'm not going to inflict myself upon this game and quit right here. They either died and the rest of the party cleared it, learning nothing, or they moved on because it is an optional dungeon and still didn't learn anything. Same for Cutter's Cry.

    I agree this doesn't add a whole lot of value, and I've never felt this change was needed, but to suggest the game is going to the dogs because of it? Nah. It was never a road block for anyone to progress or learn in the game so whether they add this or not matters very little.

    I never said the game is going to the dogs, or that such things road block a player's progress. Call my statements hyperbolic if you would like, but what you are doing is putting words in my mouth. If we wanted to find a common middle ground between our PoVs we would likely meet, that at the very least these changes definitely aren't helping anyone.

    All in all, we both find it to be an unnecessary change. But I am definitely not the only one who tires of the devs reworking old content. This particular change should have come during 2.x. Not 5.x. As much as you say this does not hinder a player's progress, the insta-kos from this mechanic also didn't stop players from clearing the dungeon either.
