Souls series is like one of the worst game series people could choose to try to highlight the idea of a telegraphed combat system or something you should avoid if you don't like the non-orange-marker attacks in FFXIV.

Yes, I do agree, and welcome, encounters in FFXIV where things don't have big ugly orange markers giving you 10 yrs to move out of danger's way.

Yes, for basically almost as long as there has been gaming, we have had stuff where you just have to read some kind of sign and respond. Often with patterns and observation. It's PUNCH OUT.

But please don't use a renowned action series with (for the most part) clean and tight animations and all kinds of super technical stuff like animation-interrupting invul on demand with a super well-tuned gauge denoting your usage anywhere near the absolute disaster that is FFXIV with its netcode, sloppy hitbox sizes, and mixed-and-matched telegraph systems (where attacks often deal damage well before or after the actual attacking part of the animation ended). Don't put them in same paragraph. Don't put them on the same page of the forum. Don't put them in the same essay. Don't even put them in the same book. Souls series deserves better than that.

I agreed with your post.. but wish more people used Devil May Cry as an example more than souls. Devil is such a better action game. IMHO. I hate how slow soul games are. It's like coming from any sonic game to I dunno... Snails play. It's HORRIBLE T.T

All this yacking about Aurum Vale should be a signal to the devs that if they want to make harder dungeons they should just make Aurum Vale type dungeons where you have to strategize mob pulls, location, environment, and understand boss mechanics (you know, the main principles of PVE).

What's more surprising than the Aurum Vale change is no new hairstyles, not even for the "normal" races. Well all I can say to people that play the "normal" races is: welcome to the club, now we're all not getting new hairstyles.

The full patch notes aren't out yet so it's still a possibility. An unlikely one, but still a possibility all the same.

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.

Which would be interesting considering how hairstyles (for normal races) was something they proudly showcased in the Live Letters, then that stopped, then it was moved to something they only show in the Promotional site. If they show it in the full patch notes now there's something to be said: how did it go from being a promotional feature to being a patch note mention the day of the patch? In my opinion, if that happens, it feels like they know how much they screwed up the handling of new hairstyles this expansion, to the point where it's not something you use to sell your product (promotional website). If they were so confident in the female Viera/Hrothgar split and not modifying hats/helmets they really shouldn't be hiding the hairstyles they won't get, just be proud of your decision.

It's likely if there are hairstyles they'll be in the 5.31 Ishgard stuff I think the last ones were and they want to cut down on the 'where do i get the hairstyle' questions when it isn't yet obtainable

Rowena's House of Splendors isn't going away. They're just removing the ability to craft regular recipes as collectables and adding new "always crafted as collectable" recipes specifically for handing into Rowena's. So you can get Business Associate from those.

Well that's reassuring. I've had problems sleeping so have been running on empty for a few days, and read that as Rowena's just up and vanishing. So now I have over 1k linen yarn in my inventory as I (not nearly as much anymore) furious craft Ramie cloth.

Out of idle curiosity, all the people saying that Coincounter is unfair and needs the markers and whatnot, is Chimera okay? It's roughly the same in terms of effects, though I suppose slightly more survivable, but last I was in there still didn't have AoE markers.

I've never seen the Chimera's attacks 1 hit kill anyone. Coincounters will 1 hit kill you unless you're level synched; so it basically will always 1 hit kill new players running the content. That's my issue with it; an attack that isn't telegraphed should never be a 1 hit kill.

I don't think anyone's even saying that it 'needed' to be changed. I wasn't exactly on the forums lobbying for him to be nerfed before this, but now that it's done I do agree with it.
