    Suggestion: Dance performance area

I'm going to be super salty about this, because while this usually isn't a huge issue, it's getting to be a strain on personal bandwidth and framerates. Rip me apart for it, if you will, I don't care. I don't like having to fish through a sea of dancing sprites just to get to the market board.

There's always people that don't want to move out of the main walkway of Limsa. All they do is idle and dance. This is on all data shards in nearly every server. Give them a designated place to perform.

I'm not sure how this would change anything unless it was designed so that you could only do performance at specific areas. Gridania literally has an amphitheater that was initially created by a bard npc (from what I recall the original was destroyed in the calamity so it got rebuilt) and while some performers choose that as their location very often others perform at the aetheryte plaza instead. Which does make sense because that's one of the places in that city that gets a lot of traffic from players.

You could just go to an area with a marketboard that has minimal activity. Basically every housing area is very quiet and if you don't have a house or apartment you can go to Ishgard, which is most of the time super quiet in the area around the marketboard.

You could always try different cities.
Limsa seems to be the most active one and where most people afk or goof around.

Or, a novel idea, the people who do performance/idle dancing could take it up to Gridania instead of inconveniencing the people who are trying to play the game. Not everyone has a high end PC/connection and cares to be greeted by someone using a third party program to watch some dance-off in the middle of the dang walkway.

If you're struggling with Limsa load times, try Kugane when you need to use a marketboard. The run across the bridge takes about the same amount of time as using the Aethernet to get to the market area for me so it should be faster for someone having issues with load times.

Another option would be to teleport to your apartment (if you have one). You'll end up right next to a marketboard since there's one outside every apartment building.

The crowd at Limsa will never go away. It's pretty much ingrained into the player base as the place to go to see and be seen.

It's a MMO. Players inevitably find a place to congregate. It will be a problem regardless of which city state is picked.

You can always avoid going to Limsa unless you're working on a quest located there. It's not like it's the only location with marketboards.

Turn off other player nameplates, battle effects and Performance sounds to help with your system performance if you feel you need to be in Limsa.

Is it really too much for the dance groups to move out of the walkway though?

Why is it a problem? There's no collision. I just walk through them if I need to when I go to Limsa (though generally I try to go to the sides out of courtesy for the perfomers and those watching).

If there was player character collision, then you'd have a point.

What are your specs? If people dancing are giving you framerate issues maybe you need to upgrade your computer?
Honestly, I was having that problem for a bit right before my PC friggin died.

It's all about convenience for them as well, and ...well, it just kind of grew into what it is naturally. Limsa is a place where people goof off for whatever reason when it should have been Gold Saucer on paper.

...But since Limsa has become what it is, I'd say the devs should embrace it and make it canon.

I'd even suggest building an additional circle attached to the main plaza for additional room to allow people to afk/goof off even more. Between the market tunnel and the ramp going up for example.

Alternatively, I'd suggest allowing people to teleport into the mini aetherytes directly from wherever, so you could just pop in at the Hawker's waypoint instead of the main plaza. Similarly the leatherworker's in Gridania for quick market access.

No one has a way of knowing that they are inconveniencing you by just standing around or dancing in a town unless you tell them. Seriously there are almost no tell tale signs about someone's gaming situation. You can spot lag, dcs can hint at a bad gaming rig or poor internet connection but that is it. There isn't even a way to tell if someone is on playstation or pc.

You need to stop taking normal social behaviour from a game as a personal offense just because you happen to not have a good gaming rig. I know how it feels to not have a strong gaming machine, I've been through it. It sucks. But it certainly never crossed my mind to feel inconvenienced by people just standing around or emoting in a town. I just chose to go to less populated areas whenever possible. You have plenty of choice for quiet areas with marketboards. I felt inconvenienced by my pc, not other players. You're being ridiculous.
