New Imperial Attacks after patch 1.21a!
The Garlean Empire draws near our city-states!
I talked about these new attacks in my last journal entry, where there're more photos of the event. Here's a brief summary:
These are the characters warning about the attack:
- Alfgar outside the Drowning Wench in Limsa Lominsa.
- Roysia in Camp Bearded Rock.
- Saintrelmaux near the Carline Canopy in Gridania.
- Hadrian in Camp Bentbranch.
- Bloehyr below The Quicksand in Ul'dah.
- Elvide in Camp Black Brush.
Speaking with them is not mandatory, but it is with the Militia Outrider found near the camp. He's the one who actually starts the mission.
His position with the coordinates:
- La Noscea (X: 26, Y: 31)
- The Black Shroud (X: 25, Y: 28)
- Thanalan (X: 25, Y: 26)
The event can be repeated and it may last over 7 hours, until the NPC disappears in town.
After it ends, there's a pause of 4 or more hours and I understood (unless it was just a coincidence) that the NPCs cycle between the 3 city-states in a precise order, that is: Limsa Lominsa => Gridania => Ul'dah.
Originally, I thought their appearance was approximately at “o'clock hours” (like Alfgar, who appeared at 19.00 GMT two days ago), but Bloehyr appeared yesterday in Ul'dah at 12.18 PM and stayed until 19.20 (then I had to leave Eorzea, but he was gone at 20.30 when I came to check briefly), so it may depend on the end of the last event or be random.
However, since the NPCs seem to cycle between the city-states in that order, and with the event lasting several hours, it's not that difficult to participate.
After each victory, a treasure chest appears next to the Militia Outrider, that can grant Deaspected Crystals, Muscle Restoratives, other Panaceae and a mysterious “Faded Page”, whose use is yet to be discovered.
At the end of the event, the NPC at camp also changes the dialogues for the victory against the Empire and temporarily disappears thereafter, to reappear a few minutes later to signal the next wave of attacks.
According to the time in my screenshots, the Militia Outrider reappears about 18-20 minutes after the Boss, the Imperial Pilus Prior, is killed, while the events itself lasts between 10-15 minutes.
There's a limit to the number of total adventurers who can participate, so I suggest to calculate the time and then press F1 to target the Militia Outrider after the 18 minutes threshold.
I'll update this post in case there're even more concrete informations.
Imperial attacks of last year in Coerthas:
Hello, adventurers!
Yesterday I found a new character in Gridania, Hadrian, just outside the Adventurers' Guild. He must be a colleague of Alfgar and Roysia (and finally they're adding these characters in the other city-states...! Maybe there's one in Limsa Lominsa as well...), and was talking about a new imperial attack in Camp Glory. These are all his dialogues:
However, when I arrived in the Fields of Glory, I found another character, Elvide, who said the imperials had withdrawn...
But... when I Returned to Gridania, Hadrian was still there, saying there was still an ongoing attack in Camp Glory:
Is the event working properly? I'm saying it might be confusing for someone, if they see Hadrian talk about these imperial attacks, then teleport to Camp Glory, and there they find Elvide saying the troops have withdrawn (while Hadrian is still saying the opposite in Gridania). I saw a glimpse of them on a japanese blog, so they actually appear, but I think there's some confusion with the dialogues of Hadrian and Elvide.
Anyway, tomorrow I'll set up a camp in Glory and be sure to catch them by myself.
Also, any of you adventurers spotted other new imperial attacks besides the one in Camp Glory?
As if all the new Great informations during the Grand Company quests on Garlemald's advance weren't enough, this is surely a nice add!
EDIT: I found the imperials and covered the event in my journal!![]()
