Post things that make you smile/happy when playing FFXIV

Definitely the community! I've found the people to be very helpful and friendly! I'll run into a bad apple every now and then but in the 3 total (off and on) years I've been playing I could barely count them on both hands. What makes me feel good and smile is when I'm taking a bit of a break in game or am waiting for a DF or something I go to my starting town (Gridania) and hang at the Crystal. If I catch a sprout in starting gear attuning it I'll stop him and give him 5000 gil to grab some stuff to help him out. It always makes me happy.

I actually had a guy about 3 months later find me and give it back to me with a lot of "thank yous" for showing him how the community is. Made me feel real good!

-Playing with mch, sam and tanking with pld or drk.
-Putting on my teaching hat when I encounter a receptive sprout who is struggling with playing the game.
-Diadem Happy Hour. Just gathering while listening to some chill music.
-Watching Lominsans having fun with their friends cuz I don't have any.
-Using my accumulated saved material to do some random crafts.
-Gold saucer

In no particular order:

- My class. I really love it.
- My wonderful fc. Every day I'm so thankful for how fantastic these people are.
- Seeing other people's ideas for housing decor.
- I LOVE MY BUNNY GIRL
- Seeing sprouts "ooh" and "woah" at various things in the game
- The random bards who perform songs throughout Eorzea
- Seeing fashionistas change their glams when new glam gear arrives. Just one of those things that makes the community feel very alive.
- LA HEE
- Lalafells with huge hats
- Seeing minions interact with each other
- Roe ladies' cool idle stances
- Randomly finding rp events outside of major cities. It's cool to see even if I don't rp.
- Lalafells' chocobos are so tiny hahahaha
- Seeing references to my tiny country's culture and history in the game
- Noticing a player suddenly stop and back pedal when they run past a player in a flashy glam

ugh there's so much stuff. i will probably forget a lot of it. i mean that's why i stick around:

-Any sliding mechanic where you don't have to do any inputs. Leviathan knocking the boat mechanic? Weeee! Sophia? Weeeee! Sliding into the boss battles in Alexander raids? Weee! Sephirot rope jumping mechanics? Weee! (you get the idea)
-Sprouts. As a veteran they can be adorable at how amazed they are at stuff I now take for granted.
- DRG jumps. it's the main reason why i play it
-The "ching" noise. you know when the game is telling you either a bar is full or you can use certain extra skills. As a drg that means i can go "ham" even if imo the numbers don't reflect how awesome is your "I deal more dmg" window is
- "What the Phooka" pixie quest. I don't know I always facepalm + chuckle at that quest.
-the puns. As much as I absolutely hate them, they somehow get me every dang time.
-mastering certain aspects of a fight can make you feel fuzzy inside at times. Like managing to squeeze that cheeky jump right before a mechanic that will get you killed. or as BLM when you find that perfect spot where mechanics all happen around you and you don't have to move.
-nerding over lore
-taking screenshots or wonderful locations or gpose in general
-creating glams that I personally enjoy. especially when you get the textures matching and it looks cohesive.
-watching some players die.

and lastly because this is more of a friends/static related thing:
-doing something so utterly stupid / great that you end up getting hit / dying bc you were too busy laughing.

The 1st day of a new expansion makes me the happiest cause of all the wonder and amazement, it's a holiday that happens every 2 years.

And a close 2nd is new patch day 1, those are like mini holidays to for the same reason.

- Any time I come across a newbie who you can tell is giving their all and really trying. Mistakes happen, you're wonderful, dust yourself off and let's go on a grand adventure.

- Any time I see a time to use Rescue for good. Yes we all like to meme about yoinking people into pits or whatever, but pulling someone out of instant death is so gratifying.

- Telling new players going through The Vault to enjoy the cutscenes after.

Omega spoilers:

I get it's not really a fair assessment, but I appreciate that in what is basically a mass simulation between all the universes of all the Final Fantasy games, Chaos was the one to face the WoL in the final round. The original big bad. Like wow. The respect. Even had a remix of the FF1 battle theme.


More small things:

• Matoya is my favourite character and am always pleased to see her in the MSQ. Her story with Y'shtola in particular was heartwarming.
• Sticking a BH5 Concentrated Drill up some ranged DPS's butt in PvP and watching a third of their HP vanish.
• Watching somebody die to a dragoon's jump in PvP. Something about how unrealistically fast the dragoon pogo jumps off their head.
• Getting an outdoor furniture float.
• Jumbo Cactpot drawing. I LOVE Gold Saucer in general. Highlight of my week.
• Roegadyn running around and having a good time.
• Roegadyn men specifically as DRG or especially NIN. Looks so silly.
• Gobbies, especially best girl Brayflox Alltalks. There's so much absurd lore about them and their dialogue is great.
• Sylph and namazu get honourable mentions, too! Namazu beast tribe was hilarious.
• Hildibrand.
• Subligars.
• Any jiggly equipment.
• Watching people die to Hashbrown's pillars in Raban. The way it falls on the WoL and she is just like "oh, I guess I'm dead" as opposed to being pulverized into the ground.
• Also I am a simpleton and I don't think Fell Cleave will ever stop being fun.
• A certain love interest makes me happy just seeing her butch miqo'te spamming some obnoxious emote at me.

My Roegydan alt's new look. I gave her my second alt's retainers appearance and quite frankly, I like it alot on her. She looks so beautiful and she always looks like she has a small smile on her face.
