Activated my account i have a 23 pug 10 mar/thm/blksmith and 12 weaver with around 400k in gil saved up. She's currently a Mithra (i know this isn't FFXI) but i absoluetly dont like her name and wanted a Human now!

So I'm thinking of blowing her up and starting all over, is it slower or faster to reach 23 again and other levels from the other classes?

Hey and welcome back! The game has improved a lot as i'm sure you can see for yourself .

Now then, Since your highest lvl is 23 atm, I see no reason not to start over if you want another character model.
As for leveling, you can grind to lvl 10 in about an hour if you can successfully chain mobs one after another (yay for chains).
Leves are still a great way to lvl up low lvl, and if you can actually get ur hands on a exp group you will fly through lvls no problem! Crafting is easier, they made the recipies a lot simpler, and leves lvl them up fast as well. Also you can rest at inns while you sleep irl, and when you log on you will have rested exp, which lvls you even faster. So imo, its MUCH easier to lvl up than when the game originally lost. So make the character you wanna make and have fuN! but send that money to someone you trust, no point in losing 400k when you can simply have it on your new character Good luck!

400k is a good chunk of money now, make sure you pawn off whatever you can and then have someone hold on to your money before you remake.

If this is true then i can just stick with her and change then but what about the names though?

imho start with a new char, it will take you max 1 week to get to the same levels as your old character

Yeah, really, ...
You can get to level 23 in a day or two. The exp to that level is something tiny like 5% of the way to 50, and you can get anything to level 10 in an hour or two... and 400k is a nice buffer if you can find a way to transfer it, but it's really nothing to get lost on. You can earn that in a couple hours mining at Iron Lake.

If you don't like the name, just re-roll.
