    Since WoL weapons are 495 it makes sense, you can upgrade every other portion of Crystarium gear but not the weapon. I forget when they usually release it because by 5.4 we’ll have new tome and raid gear.

    The never let us upgrade weapons with coins at launch. It's always been that way.

    I Remember now it’s usually in one of the final patches before the big patch like 4.35 or 4.38

    Also presumably want to have time for the relic weapon to be worth anything aside from being a step to the next one, presumably it'll be 495 too.
