Game reset all my settings

I went to launch my game today, and the game acted as if it was never registered.. I got thru all the intro stuff and to my character.. to find EVERYTHING reset, gearsets missing, hotbars missing etc. How do i fix this without manually going thru it all again?! this is urgent

Did you make a backup?

AFAIK, there's no way to fix it unless you used either the in game backup feature, or made a backup of your doc folder.

I did back it up.. i used the restore feature and it fixed nothing

Now do I move the character folders into the game folder, boot folder? I just dont wanna take the HOURS to do it all manually..

It goes into your documents /my games /final fantasy xiv folder

I see that, but Im not sure how to restore it from there

It's worth noting that each Windows user has their own "My documents" folder. Be sure you are singed in with the same Windows user you used to play FFXIV.

Im on the same system ive always been on. no one has access to my pc. so thats not the issue

The only way to restore all those settings is by doing a copy-paste of your character folder here (at least for Win10): C:\Users\X\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn (Change X for your user name).

A character folder has a name similar to this one: FFXIV_CHR0040002E92C77706

Anyway, in your place I will really double-check I signed in with the right user.

Well, it seems that even my character file got overwritten.. so im forced to redo everything..
