Leave rezzes to the healers unless:

They are down
Tunnel visioned
Multiple players are KO'd
You're in 24-man (all three scenarios I just mentioned can and will be present in alliance raids)

As a healer main, I do appreciate rezz assistance when the situation calls for it. Macros are a hit or miss, honestly. The thing about macros is that I have yet to find even one that is used in battle where you don't give up one convenience for another. As an example, I thought it would be really helpful to add a a focus target macro to some of my skills so it would do it automatically upon engaging the enemy since I often forget to do this, or switch it from my previous target; but doing this took away my ability to queue up whatever skill I tied that macro to, which ended up being a bigger hindrance than switching FTs.

In the case of a rezz macro, if you tie text to it and your attempt fails for whatever reason, the text still goes off. While this is nothing than a mere annoyance for probably just the caster attempting the rezz, it remains one of those glitches that I prefer to keep out of my own playstyle. Tying text to a rezz macro also leaves a lot to chance. The players that need to see it the most can likely miss it entirely if their chat logs are not filtered appropriately, or if they just aren't paying attention to it.

To be entirely and brutally honest, the only thing casters need so toes aren't being stepped on when rezzes are needed is to pay attention to their party list, which healers in particular should be doing anyway. All the information they need is right there.
