Cycle Through Enemies -- can Devs do another pass on this?

The place in options is System->Keybind->Targeting->Cycle through Enemies (Nearest to Farthest).

I rely on this bind quite a bit, but its priority system is really bad. It seems to go clockwise from your point of view in a janky fashion.

For example, let's I have this

I'm fighting my current enemy at 10 o'clock. There's another nearby enemy at 2 o'clock. What does Cycle through Enemies keybind do? It gives you a completely irrelevant distant enemy. In this example it'd select the faraway orange one at about 12 o'clock. Nearest to farthest should indeed mean Nearest. The expected Next nearest should be the close 2 o'clock one.

Please can you do another pass on this system so that one keybind can intelligently select the next nearest?

    thanks,
    icy

Also, in System->Character Configuration->Control Settings->Target , I've currently got the "Target Type: Target Closest Enemies" section set to "Type 2: Cone". I've had more issues with "Type 1: Ignore Depth".
In any case, I suspect the game is not searching the breadth enough for next nearest enemy, so it's instead picking something from far away. /shrug

I believe it goes down the agro list. Enemies have Letters attached to their name that shows their position on the agro list.

If you look at the list of enemies you've agro'd, I believe if you move "right" one, it goes down the list one.

The default just goes viably from left to right (or reversed if you shift it) on your field of view, without considering distance. It doesn't use the enemy list.
There's the cone option in your targeting option that icy_ had pointed out. Some people like it better.

I use that a lot in general to keep my mouse free for other things, but in stuff like pvp it's basically impossible to target anyone nearby without clicking on them. But of course they're going nuts and zig-zagging so then it's impossible to click them.

Yeah, the tab in this game is ridicolous. I keybound "Target closest enemy" and it works much better, especially in pvp, cause targetting in pvp makes it all impossible, especially in FL with so much people.

As long as they change it so in the Naadam PVP map I stop locking onto the dang Oovoo when I'm trying to target literally anybody.
