    Can't use Cure 2

    Heya everyone!

    Just recently got WHM and started using it for Instances. But now I can't use Cure 2 and Presence of Mind for either CON or WHM. I can use it when I'm outside, but as soon as I'm in an Instance it says ''Action not yet learned''.

    Does anyone know why?

    Hi, you learn Cure II and PoM at level 30. The way dungeons work in this game is that they're level synched does, so that you're always at level for the specific dungeon. So if you go into Sastasha you'll only go up to level 18, iirc. This means that if you try to use any skill learned after Stone II, it won't work. It's kind of a silly system, and it's a big reason that levelling in this game feels rough: especially when you're a much higher level and then you get cut back to like 10% of your kit.

    If you go into the instance and you see a little square and a golden S in it next to your level in the party list, that means your level is capped for the dungeon, and that you're level synched to it. If you start going into dungeons that are built for around level 30 like Haukke Manor and Brayflox Longstop you'll have more of your kit.

    This, so much this. I know this isn't the best place for a rant but even in a full party of lvl 60+ you get a lvl 28 dungeon and 80-90% of your kit just gets disabled. I'd even go as far as to argue that it contributes to people not knowing how to play their job correctly at max level when they spend a huge amount of their leveling process with only the most basic spells available to them.

    Agreed.

    Just make the Potency a bit lower. Don't rob me off all my good skills.

    I'm not fond of level sync either and I'd like it to be replaced, but just lowering the potency of high level skills may not work as relative potencies are one of the factors that determines how to build your rotation or how to choose one skill over another. Ideally everything would be lowered together.

    Potency doesn't even need to be lower because spell / ability damage scales off of the weapon damage stat which in synced content is lowered.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    Yes but you have access to skills with potency stronger than what you should have at that level.
    So to have all your skills, potency should probably still be reduced otherwise you would really break the dungeon for low-level players.
    I would be more than happy to Holy in Sastasha, don't get me wrong, but it probably needs to be nerfed a bit...

    Tbh I would push a button with the same potency just for it's different animation and so I can push a different button.
    In fact, I already do this whenever I get a snoozefest on Samurai. I don't need to alternate between Shifu and Jinpu because the buff last forever. I just do it so I don't press 1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2 for 30s+.
    Sync is great but getting a low level dungeon when everyone is way above the dungeon level and only having 2-3 buttons is frustrating.

    my friends and I run a ton of dailies together and we always get that problem, where all 4 of us are lv 70+ and yet the game feels that we need to be dumped into copperbell mines for leveling roulette, or getting throw into copperbell mines hard for 50/60/70. its quite frustrating not to be able to use most of our kit.

    I've been wondering if the way to fix this would be that instead of syncing our levels, sync our gear to the min ilvl if our character outlevels the dungeon's expac. that way we could keep our complete kits but not have to worry, since players within the dungeons levels would not have their gear synced. something along those lines. not sure how the math would work out though

    its pretty annoying to get almost all of out kit gutted in tam tara or haukke manor when you're a level 80 grouped with 2 other lv 80s doing leveling roulette for tomes or the materia items. there's gotta be a way to work it out for both low and high level players
