    Best shadowbringer food by role?

What is widely considered the best 480 food choices by role like heals, tank, ranged physical, ranged caster and melee?

I've been told most people aside from tanks just run the highland cabbage one but I'm curious on your guys thoughts?

Don't tanks want the tenacity food though for damage mitigation? Or are raids all about everyone doing max dps regardless of role?

    It's all about DPS.
Everyone is a DPS, even healers and tanks, they just have additional tools to accomodate their role.
In raids damage comes in fixed predictable patterns, no surprises. Tanks just need enough mitigation to survive the rare damage spikes aka tank busters and get fully healed by the overpowered healing tools.
Currently E5S wont need a single GCD heal from both healers if the party is good, just good not perfect.

Also the bit more mitigation from tenacity wont help you survive any mechanics easier or makes the job of the healers any easier, but the DPS gain from a full DPS build may save you from a mechanic who would be hard to do or just save time and save you from seeing enrage and so lessens stress on the party. The worst you can get is a time save with a DPS build as a tank/healer, but a passive mitigation or piety build will you cost time and maybe in the perril of facing enrage more often then you want.

Physical DPS: Stuffed Highland Cabbage (HQ) for DRG, NIN and ranged or Sausage and Sauerkraut (HQ) for MNK and SAM
Magical DPS: Stuffed Highland Cabbage (HQ) (for BLM Pickled Herring (HQ) for more SpS or Herring Pie (HQ) for more Crit depending on the BiS)
Tanks: Stuffed Highland Cabbage (HQ) or Sausage and Sauerkraut (HQ) depending on SkS tier to reach and the corresponding gear
Healers: Hering Pie (HQ) (for AST Stuffed Highland Cabbage (HQ) is a possible option depending on gear)

No. My GNB and my WAR are usually eating Sausage and Sauerkraut.

Also which bufffood you need doesn't only depend on your role/class but also on your build and the encounter you face. Each job has at least two different BiS-gear, depending on different GCD-speed. So Bufffood may also vary, especially depending on the need for extra speed from food or not. And not only BiS, there is also the gap between your current gear and the BiS-Version of it which may also require adaptations with the food you take. Also, encounterwise for example, E8S may require a different rotation/skillspeed then E6S for optimal results on some classes, so you may even switch food for different fights.

So first thing you usually check is: Do I have enough skillspeed/spellspeed or do I need some more through food? After that you may look for the attibutes your job needs the most (Crit, DH...)

Really? I'm pretty sure the optimal way to do things is get those stats in their butter zone with materia, not food.

The best combat food will probably change with 5.3.
