noooooo they should not
i like where the company system is going now...
Where you feed hundreds of stacks of cabbage to some sheep so you can get access to an unrelated quest!
For the people trying (and failing) to say GC = fame, it doesn't. GC = city rank missions. Storyline = storyline. Fame = the levels in XIV. Things just unlock as you get higher now and it takes what ... a whole day or two to get level 50.... so ya, everything is available too quickly IMHO. The fame impediment was only to sidequests in XI, just like level is the impediment to them in XIV.
GC = City missions = trade a miniscule amount of crystals to raise your rank.... sounds about the same as trading a miniscule amount of seals to raise your rank, no?... ya it does. At least they don't let you buy your rank points at the AH in XIV.
I miss a fame system, XI's didn't bother me that much, but it definitely could have been better.
They could feasibly add special content for folks who have earned a specific title thru the achievements system. I guess.
LMAO! these "Bring Back" threads pop on daily basis now!!!
SO funny HA!!!
Company ranks is at most, similar to nation ranks in XI.
And even then, its nothing but grinding. Its the same shit they did to quests with guild leves. They took the flavor and made it into a repetitive task.
People need to stop comparing it to fame only because it involves PROGRESS. Something which FFXIV seems to lack of.
just because YOU traded 300 cabbages to gain the level of fame you wanted instead of doing quest doesn't mean that was the only way to gain fame and that its the way it has to be in FFXIV................
Morticous - Senior admin of.... well of nothing. (cool picture here)
NO!!!!!!!!!!
Always thought the fame system was kind of pointless, our side quests unlock as we level, that works just fine, I do not want to spend more just for more of them to unlock. It's a bit silly. Instead give people special titles as suggested to unlock if they do X amount of side quests ect.... Or achievements because everyone loves those!
