Handouts, the silver platter, etc, other "freebies" as you claim, do not equate to accessibility. Accessibility means I can do things when I want to, when I want to, and however I want to. It doesn't mean I want a handout.

A fame system, especially the one being used in XI, is a direct contradiction to accessibility. It is a BLOCK and a HINDRANCE that is completely unnecessary and simply prevents people from completing, and most of all EXPERIENCING content.

Oh so what you are saying is that you are against any pre requirements. I bet you hate AV. You'd be opposed to lets say, areas such as sea and sky to be implemented on XIV too then.

I'm tired of people thinking that playing this game, just playing, because its not even challenging, equals to effort and that anything that takes time doesn't.

To become known by other NPCs through your deeds makes sense. It gives immersion. It gives a sense of accomplishment.

Its not an outdated mechanic, its something that makes sense. FFXIV is a role playing game, not some knock the bottles game at a theme park. So play your role. You start from the bottom and you build yourself up into something.

Summoner's probably a bad example for what you are trying to say, seeing as fame was just to start the quest, the quest itself was a separate achievement, and then there was primal collecting, either you knew a buddy who could or you yourself could solo the true primals, or you had to level to 20 to fight the lowbie versions by yourself
I mean sure, activating the quest to become a summoner required the challenge of fame as you call it, but once you got past that as a magic using job you had a lot more effort in store to actually be effective, kinda similar to BLU, not like you could buy all those spells, and for the jobs which primarily had purchasable spells, you had to be able to make money in order to do so
Wanting to be a mage in XI was an effort in of itself, fame was a barrier to beginning that effort, not the effort itself.
