I fail to see what "damage" has been done here - you unlocked something you're not intrested in. Big deal. Having this area available doesnt seem all that hurtful, even if you dont plan on interacting with it. On that note: There are some mini-story-quests available in said area once this restauration stage is finished on your server (regardless of your personal partcipation) - they add to the story of Ishgard after the dragonsong war ended, basically. If you're intrested in getting as much lore and story as possible, those might be worth your time after all. And again: You dont need to craft/gather for this.
"Click baited" is hardly the right term aswell - they made a big deal out of this whole crafting/gathering content for months now and the Patch-Notes would have had all the information you needed.
It seems they are more irritated by the constant Duty log displaying on their screen, the one that all of us have that says "Current phase of restoration complete, no further phases in progress" or something to that effect while we are in Ishgard. To which I say, sorry SoulKhan, but that is staying there til Restoration is done in (probably) 5.51. You are going to have to stay out of Ishgard until then if it really annoys you, or unless another player has some HUD tricks they can share with you so you can hide that.
