FWIW, your GPU does support it, but it's not labeled as such on the control panel. It's just a matter of going to the Screen Resolution part of the control panel and adding custom resolutions larger than your monitor. They'll show up as valid resolutions, but if you set a game to use one, Nvidia's DSR functionality will take the larger renders and scale them down cleanly to match the monitor resolution.

However, it has to be set up manually. So it sounds pretty definitive you're not using it, and thus it can't be the culprit for you. (Unlike for me, where it happens when I swap to an absurd resolution via DSR in order to take screenshots, and then tab out without thinking.)

I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.

Oh, I did not know that! Yes, as you already deduced I never did anything of the sort, I've been usin the same screen resolution ever since I bought my notebook lol
But thank you for telling me that, it's nice to know

So, I reinstalled the game after deleting everything in its folder but the problem still happens.

I've also tried doing a driver rollback but the error still happens

Good afternoon and thank you for the reply.

Remove any injectors from the game or system (Reshade, Nvidia Freestyle, etc.). Also, remove any custom configurations made using driver-level programs (Nvidia Control Panel, Radeon Crimson). If you have not done so already, are you able to do a clean reinstall of the game?

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

    Good evening.

Just did a clean reinstall of the game and still getting the error.

I don't have any injectors installed and no custom configurations.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Unfortunately, the device information in the provided System Report does indicate that the laptop being used does not meet the minimum specifications required to play FINAL FANTASY XIV most notably the Intel(R) HD Graphics Family chipset. We do not support Intel graphics cards for FINAL FANTASY XIV. However, I did notice there is an NVIDIA device that is not listed as the primary graphics card. This suggests that you may be running NVIDIA Optimus which controls whether your system utilizes the base Intel card or the NVIDIA card to conserve battery power. Please try disabling NVIDIA Optimus and see if the error persists. For instructions on how to force the NVIDIA card to be enabled or to disable Optimus, please contact NVIDIA Support.

Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

That's weird, specially considering I configured FFXIV on my nvidia control panel to use the Nvidia GPU.
So I tried discovering how to disable optimus on my pc and it turns out I can't. But the weird thing is: earlier this year I was able to play FFXIV without any problems! And I didn't change anything on my pc (save updating the drivers)
I then decided to try using the nvidia gpu as my global configuration, but when doing that the FFXIV Launcher won't load correctly, not allowing me to do my login, staying always in the screen with the game logo.

Hi!! Posting here just to inform that I solved the problem!!

Turns out my intel driver was outdated, despite telling me it was up to date when I tried to update it using the device manager.

So I had to download the new one from the intel website, uninstall the old one, delete it from my pc,turn off the internet, restart the pc and install the new driver. Doing that made the game stop crashing and now I can play without any troubles!!

Thank you everyone who helped me in this thread!
