Remove Gender-Locked Class/Weapon Poses

This thought has been sitting in the back of my mind for a while now. It has recently started bugging me enough that I created a forum account to post this and hopefully get some attention towards it. I know I'm not alone with this opinion: Allow both genders to use each other's class/weapon poses. I've searched online for other mentions of this same idea and a couple have popped up, but I wanted to revive this as there was no mention in the recent Live Letter. Personally I love the female DRK and MNK ready/idle pose and would pay to use it. There are some nice male poses as well, such as DRG's iconic idle pose. I've never used a fantasia before, and I don't really have any plans to either because I have favorites for each class. I really hope that this gains enough traction for SE to consider making this an option, even if it costed money. I'd happily hand over a few dollars to use my favorite female weapon poses. I don't think it would be a large time investment to make happen. I assume all they would need to do is slightly modify the pose's skeleton to fit a male's, if necessary. Once again, I hope SE will devote a little time to make this happen, I'm sure many people would be excited to have the extra customization for their character.

The title sounds like you want the poses removed.

Yes this has been brought up occasionally, and I agree, both poses should be available to all. I don't think it should be sold, but if it were account wide I might consider it. Poses are different than emotes so I wonder if it something that can be unlock-able. It may be one of those things they have to give to everyone or no one.

Thing is as it is you have a normal pose and an alternate pose, and choosing one effects all jobs/classes. They would have to add a third pose to the cycle (like standing or sitting poses have serval variants). Does every Job have male and female variants? I'm wondering how it would work if some jobs have 3 poses and one only has 2.

Can I also say I wish crafters and gatherers had unique poses, instead of Paladin.

i want the male mnk pose. i have glove style weapons glammed and it looks like my character is holding up invisable shopping bags in idle stance

Inb4 that one miqo'te who's been wearing a glacial coat since 2.1 comes in here saying limitation leads to creativity.

Anyways, I'm all for removing... pretty much any and all forms of gender-locking in this game. Whether or not it's feasible, that's a different story.

Personally I'm okay with having things be race and/or gender locked. I may envy other people and their animations/gear/whatever at times but it gives the game flavor.

I like gender and class locked things. It makes them feel more unique. I honestly wish there were more racial unique gear, maybe even have each race have unique stances with gear to reflect their cultures. You don't need everything at once, it's boring.

I like it the way it is. It gives the genders their own artistic taste, making them unique, giving flavor to the game and homogenization is just not my thing when it comes to such.

I oppose this. I love the distinction of the sex I chose when I started the game. What's next, remove sexes when creating characters and just have an asexual character?

The only job I know of that doesn't have a distinction between male and female is RDM. As far as I know there are only 2 poses per job excluding that one.

That's a bit of a slippery slope fallacy. I'm not asking that every single pose and emote be interchangeable between genders, I'm specifically asking for class poses, or at the very least class idle poses, to be available to both. There is a massive jump between the small request I have, and turning every character asexual.
