I wouldn't like it tied to Beastmaster because that means another weak Limited Job. BLU could have been something fun for old content, with a huge range of powerful monster abilities, but it had to be balanced around the Carnival. This resulted in a bland toolkit full of elemental spells with the same potency and a small handful of other weak abilities such as bad tank stance, bad voke, weak heal, bad invuln, nerfed raise, cast time Trick attack and so on. BLU is essentially a Carnival class.
A battle arena for all classes, ranging from easy to Savage, could be very interesting even if difficult to implement. Sort of like WoW's Brawler's Guild.
I'd like to be able to capture monsters (any level), then set them loose in cities..




The technology already exists in the game. We got the monster assets. This should be a piece of cake for the FF14 team to make.
The only thing that remains is the demand for it.
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
I'd be super down with it. I loved it in FFX and with some variations, I'm sure it could be something great. Perhaps a new attraction in the Gold Saucer, perhaps something with the Beastmaster, I wouldn't mind (even thought I'd prefer the Beastmaster being its own job and not a limited one).




No matter what they did with this idea it would def be interesting.
And as long as it's not super RNG dependent (like chocobo breeding) I'd probably sink pretty deep into it.




Isn't the Masked Carnivale basically a monster arena, minus the capturing part?




Rathalos EX proves that the player base is terrible at doing this kind of content.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

This would be so cool. I absolutely loved that arena in FFX. Definitely would do this! Beastmaster limited job would be perfect for this, let us get a bestiary and capture mobs in the game and train them! Could also use them in fights, Lord of Verminion style!
