    Racovering Arrows...

I dunno about anyone else but when I physically use a bow in real life I don't just leave my arrows in the target...
Ok so one or 2 may be unusable after how many times they've used, brokenby accident when I've pulled them back out (Behave dirty minded people! I know there is a joke in there :|) so on and so on.

Point being, we spend a lot on arrows as it is, so why does SE torture us like this? a few more people might WANT to play Bard/Archer if the cost was a little bit less.

    Any thoughts tweaks?

to Clarify, Its not an XI Mechanic, its a real life mechanic... it just happened to be in XI too.
A Dev answer would be Re-asuring, even if they do just say "coming in 2.0!"

cant use cobalt arrows fro the get go though i see your point, 1 stack doesent generally last very long for me i dunno 'bout anyone else, not only that but the general cost of armour might leave some players under equiped. i'm just speculating now though, even though i tend to level 2-3 classes at a time but that my stupidity/ego ¬_¬

All the other arrows are cheap from the NPC/Grand company too. It's only when you get to the high 30's and higher that you need to start buying from players.

Still kinda wish quivers were like shields to be honest, equip them for the stats and non-consumable. I know they aren't that expensive atm but I just don't see the justification in one DD class having to pay gil per 'melee' when other jobs don't and reasons such as 'realism' don't mean anything to me since it's a game. However if that isn't an option I like the OP's idea.

/gets fire blanket and wraps self in it.

...personally I'd run, but yeah that works too!
and its a little unfair on newer players too, my first 30 didnt have enough oney to get a full set from the wards nevermind how much bows costed then... havent needed to buy one for a while so i dunno how much they cost now

They are cheap, bows don't require rare/annoying materials anymore and the ones from NPCs are cheaply priced as long as you get them from market ward or inn NPCs. New players should have no trouble affording them up to around L20 when they need to start getting crafted stuff, or they could buy them with seals.

I would say, how many times during a war have you seen bowman running out into the field to go and get their arrows back. And yes as Myrhn said all the magic and attacking is likely to damage the arrows too lol. In a target you can get arrows back, in live kill, probably not so much lol.

Although I still stand that I'd prefer the 1 arrow for stat route too.
