so many innocent adventurers have met their end, and i couldn’t save them
i couldn’t save them square
they still haunt me to this day

I wish a lot of utility skills could be used outside your party, especially in alliance raids. Like, why give tanks Shirk if they can't actually give aggro to another tank because they're the only one in their alliance?
Sometimes I'll shirk someone low on threat in my parties just to stay #1 in my group (incase the MT dies, don't want the boss chewing a random dps) but not overtake the MT.
I used to just drop and reapply stance periodically but I remember a healer getting super angry about that for some reason. Easier to avoid bothering people this way.
I agree though, would be nice to be able to shirk another alliances tank if only to prevent any unnecessary aggro wars that are so common in 24ms.
I came from the Japanese servers, so all of these aggro wars just baffle me.
In Japan, alliance B takes the lead. They're MT.
In the US servers it's a free for all where some take joy in competing with other tanks for aggro.
It's really annoying, I agree. I wouldn't even bother with tank stance in 24m outside of add phases but I've been killed by autos enough as a dps or healer to know I don't want any of my party above me on enmity on the off chance the MT decides to take a dirt nap.
What kills me is that no other tank will step forward to pull a boss sometimes, so I take it upon myself. What happens next? Both tanks start fighting for aggro, despite the fact that I pulled the boss. So I have given up being a MT in Alliance raids unless the other tanks are doing absolutely nothing. They can have their war. I won't be part of it.
As long as they also inlcude rescue, so more people can be "saved".
