    Monk and the future of the job.

    I have been playing monk on and off since ARR. I have now moved it to be my main melee job. Now that I am detaching from military service, I have more time to work and enjoy life. I have read many posts on the complaints of the monk community and taken in all the complied suggestions. The current game play is not bad, but it is not smooth. The smooth flow of combat for the job is what has many of us upset. Here are the changes I propose to smooth out the current game flow of monk. In this system positional skills offer a bonus and generation system. The system adds on to the current and make very small changes to the overall setup on the job. The dragon fire can just be an outer ring around the current chakra system of another color for tracking purposes. AoE has been adjusted to fit into this configuration as well. The new generation system gives us a way to use tornado kick and Six-sided star with no penalties for a game style based on speed and being engaged. The changes to Six-sided star still allow it to be a skill that helps us maintain GL while we are disengaged from the mob. Most raid buffs function on the format of augmenting the team, brotherhood functions on the team augmenting you. Meditative Strike serves as an attack to smooth out the transition to your new position.

    This system seems overly busy. Dragon Fire stack on every positional would mean that Tornado Kick is used every 3 GCD, that would get very annoying very fast, especially when approaching burst windows. Having TK grant 2 chakra stacks every 3GCDs and having Brotherhood and brotherhood of souls proccing from everyone, there's absolutely no way in hell anyone could keep up with oGCDs as you'd be spamming the heck out TK and TFC.

    This concept just would not be fun imo and just seems overly spammy.

    Chakra is the only resource that MNK needs imo but it just needs to allow an overflow and for there to be no RNG involved. GL as a mechanic is downright useless now and only comes off during forced downtime which just feels awful anyway. I personally couldn't get on board with this kind of MNK and would hate it more than the current MNK. And yeah, i'm a MNK main lol.

    Edit: There also seems to be very little incentive to use 6SS. It provides nothing special and is only 200 potency on the GCD but saving up for TK is oGCD and 550potency. I know numbers are just an idea, but still, seems a lot like how the fist stances are now. We only use the most powerful one and in this situation TK always comes out on top.

    So we are still using GL in the current fashion?

    If so then I would agree that it would be overly busy.

    If we are not using GL in it's current form and it's a PASSIVE trait.

    Then yes this could work, but I don't like the idea of MOST of the chakra gains behind only AOE. I do like the idea behind a one hit chakra gain, but I think players would just spam it, and Tornado Kick would become the focus of the job.

    Fist's of wind seems OP LOL. +20% run speed, have to admit I would like to see this. Maybe if it couple with Brotherhood and gave whole raid +20% run speed.

    Again I like your ideas, but I don't know how they would fit in with or without GL. I think we will have to see how SE handles this mess they put themselves in come patch day.

    I like that Tornado Kick would get some use, but I'd be interested to know how many stacks of Dragon Fire can be held at once. If it's more than 3 and something like 6 I think it could be kind of cool, because you could bank Tornado Kick uses for burst phases. But I do think the generation should be slowed and only trigger 1 per combo (either on coeurl form or raptor form, if you wanted it to be more themed)

    Enhanced Greased Lightning Lv. 20 Skills that grant Grease Lighting now produce two stacks of Greased Lightning.
    Enhanced Greased Lightning II Lv. 40 Skills that grant Grease Lighting now produce three stacks of Greased Lightning.
    Enhanced Greased Lightning III Lv. 76 Skills that grant Grease Lighting now produce four stacks of Greased Lightning.
    Fist of Earth Lv 15 Ability Instant 3s N/A 0y, 0y Reduces damage taken by 5%. When damage is taken gain counter strike
    (Counter Strike Lv 15 Weaponskil Instant 15s N/A 3y, 0y Delivers and attack with a potency of 125. 250 when executed from the targets front.)
    Fist of Wind Lv 34 Ability Instant 3s N/A 0y, 0y Tornado Kick is an AOE while wind is active and does 50% less damage. Increases movement speed. Cannot be used with Fist of Earth or Fist of Fire and shares a recast timer with both. Effect ends upon reuse.

    Just keep adding GL stacks until it becomes so fast that the only manageable way to play the job would be to spam Bootshine with a 0.2s GCD ...a hundred fists baby!!!!!!!
