I can't say I've seen many instances of this myself.
I'm talking simply about people not equipping a job stone. Just the fact that it can happen, even if probably (hopefully) on rare occasions is still a problem. Wearing the "wrong" job stone is probably even rarer in the case of ACN because it changes your role.

I suppose that, theoretically speaking, they could have it such that you could play a "class version" of the job right up until you're able to obtain the job stone. In this sense, you could say that you were always swinging a greatsword around but you weren't a """"real"""" Dark Knight until you stumbled upon Fray in Ishgard. As to how this could work from a technical standpoint? Beats me. Probably complicated... but I do wish it were possible. I do have some friends who wished they could have played through ARR as, say, a RDM or SAM right off the bat instead of playing through ARR to unlock em.
Bind all expansion jobs to an existing class, and rework classes pre 30 or so to include elements of both jobs. When job stone is equipped, you specialize and lose access to some of the mixture that the class had. Would be ideal to me, but I’m not holding my breath. The biggest oversight to being able to play an expac job at level 1 is that they would need to go back and add weapons for those levels.

Ditto that I would rather play a Rogue than a Ninja. A lot of the other "upgraded" jobs seem natural, Rogue to Ninja does not. No wonder people keep asking for Thief. The weirdest part is you wield daggers on a Ninja, and rarely use them; which is very unroguelike.

Haha yeah no. I very much like what they did with the dark knight story, in particular and would not like it to be changed. I do wonder if there could be some way to work around it, however.
