    [Suggestion] Hot bar presets

    Hello,

I have heard people say they struggle figuring out where to put actions as well as struggle finding good places for all their actions, and mention "ability bloat."

Currently there is a function where players can save their data to the servers.

I am offering a suggestion that there be default hotbar presets for classes, or players have the option to share, or upload other players hotbar settings.

    Thank you.

Oh look, I posted how I used to post.

Lets see if this gains any traction, or find out how its a horrible idea, or whatever else will be said, if anything.

I think it's a neat idea. But it can be replicated with screenshots. Also, how would someone download this? XIV seems very... hrmm, in house? I'm not sure what's a good way to describe it, but everything is done in game, as it were. This sounds like something third party and wouldn't work very well when transferring data across clients since these settings are saved account and client side.

All jobs do have their own preset hotbars, it's just the default hotbar. And when you learn a skill, it pops up on it. Is that not what you mean?

I've seen people play with controller having to press R1 multiple times to switch through different hotbars with teleports, hunting logs etc. just to use all steps of Technical Step or finish a combo, so yes, please.
(Even if only to keep other players safe from them. ;D)

When people post screenshots I've seen them having auto-attack and return on their first bar. And people complain about not having enough space for all their stuff and how hotbar switching is so tedious because you switch to so many non-combat bars.

People do not WANT to play around with so many settings, especially if they don't know what they do at first glance. I for one love to try everything out, but most people just want to play the game.
If the developers won't change the default settings from how clunky they are to what you usually play with after 30+ minutes going through all the options, hotbar presets would be a good substitute.

While we're at it, the same goes for the HUD layout. Everything is too spread out by default. I've recently seen a tank complain that he often misses the tankbusters because he usually looks at the middle of the screen and at his hotbars for cds, but forgets to look all the way up to the top of the screen for the target bar. Some people might be good with the default layout, but I and many others would miss half of what happens with everything important at different corners of the screen.

The thing with UI is it's so very personal, I've seen UIs from top of the chart raiders and I wouldn't set up mine like theirs.
If I show you my setup I bet nobody would copy it, it has all crammed in the middle of the screen in account of a bad case of tunnel vision, but that's the way it works for me.

Same goes for the order of the actions in the bars, you will put them in order depending of your binding (if you playing with k+m), so my order could not work for you unless you also copy my keyboard setting, then again something I don't recommend.
