Thread: Regarding Firmament Titles For 5.3

My feedback is keep the titles and achievements the same every single time for the Restoration Ranking. They had told us that once you got the Top 12 the titles wouldn't change and I'm 99% sure they had also said that if you got in the Top 12, you wouldn't be allowed to do so again therefore giving other people a chance to get the Top 12.

I already got my Top 12 the first time around. I worked for it and am proud of it. I don't really want to do it again and this time compete with the crafting bots that have surely figured out the expert crafting. Also, I think those who worked for it before and missed it should have the chance to get it this time without competing against those of us who already got it.

I am really excited for the new titles. I really want to try for 1st, I got 2nd in botany last time around. This is the exact kind of competition that I love, and I absolutely do not mind doing the grind again. I know some people have concern for bots when it comes to this, but I do my best to report them when I see them in the Diadem (they do really rapid gathering, even faster than quick gather, so it's super easy to spot). I did not lose any sleep last time and I don't plan on doing it next time either. My worry with other people during last season was that they were staying up all night to do things, then saying they only got x amount of points. I think that's more a problem with inefficiency than the grind for points.
I like feeling like I accomplished something in a video game, something that feels exclusive. Adding a new title really, really got me stoked to do the next season!

I think a few things to keep in mind are:
It's okay for minds and plans to change.
It is okay to "lose" the title to others that went in on it more intensely.
It is okay to not be able to participate if your real life demands your attention. For a lot of people, that is not the case - especially right now.

I don't know where you come from, but going back on one's word is NOT okay around here. People made choices based on yoshi-p's word, then, without explanation, he suddenly went back on his word completely when the time came to release the content and did the exact thing he said he wasn't going to do. That ain't cool, man, and it is what is really making all this so unfair.

How did they go back on their word when it was never said the titles would be the same or that people would not be able to rank again. all that was said is this will be the first season and the rankings will be tallied for 10 days.

Exactly. One could say that thinks change between planning and release but they have released the first part of it, have done the first season and never said that it would change. So after the release these things should stick otherwise its just unfair..and honestly I dont even see a good enough reason on why they would go back on their own words? What data and opinions did they get to decide that they would change it?

If they were to keep the titles (like they initially said they would), make it a weekly/monthly competetion (like they said they would), everyone would have a chance at being the firmanents hero. But by changing the titles each patch and only having one competetion a patch, the team is basically saying that if you weren't self-isolating in phase 2, you couldn't get these titles. I found solace in the fact that when these leaderboards would reset after the first competetion I'd have another shot, cause well another try, but also the people that got the title/achievement in the first run would not need to the second run of the leaderboards.

Yes it's a competetion, but as a lot of people also mentions, PvP has the same titles every season, you don't get locked out of getting those titles because you don't participate in a specific season. I'm not a fan of time limited content in general. It just shows you were fortunate enough to be able to put in that dedication at that specific time. Everything (titles, achievements, mounts etc.) should be available to anyone at any given time in my opinion.

Another point I wanna share is that this is an MMO, to me that means you work together on a common goal, and this sort of competetion, I've never felt more like a solo player... ever. I was egoistic, not participating in any other events in the game that I'd usually stop what I was doing to join in on. This is NOT what I want in an MMORPG. I want to see a reason to play with other people in the content that I'm presented and a ranking leaderboard as it was implemented does not make me wanna work together with anyone.

Please reuse the titles for every single leaderboard ranking ever to exist and make the leaderboard ranking more frequent.

I don't think I ever crafted more than 3 hours a day during this event so you must play very few hours and still expect to earn pvp seasonal titles for some reason.
