Remember the FFXI mentor system?

I'd like something like that implemented. I like helping newbies and explaining them the ropes. A lot of them seem to find FFXIV to be pretty complex and frustating.

It'd be cool (but not necessary) if they could link some achievements to it too.
Like the helped player could review the mentor by the end or something like that with a simple thumbs up/down menu.

I think that'd be neat.

Most people on FFXI just used the mentor icon to make themselves stand out...

Thus I mostly see that happening again if it was in this game.

I would like this to make a return too. On my first day playing FFXI a mentor helped me out with learning the basics of how to fight when I hadn't a clue how to. Although the tutorials in this game will hopefully be teaching new players the basics, it is always nice to know there are others around that you can see that you can ask questions to make something clearer or even just to answer how to get from one place to another. ^_^

Most mentors wasnt that useful when i was still playing. It was just kinda there and nobody gave a single fk.

...could be easily abused by people telling their friends to give them good feedback or whatnot. It would need a more in depth system to determine authenticity and that is more work than it should be.. lol

Would be easier just to leave it out.
