    Try answering my questions for once. AV and PW have nothing to do with Abyssea, so try again.

    Don't play the Abyssea ruined the game for me card while you're at it, that is a weak excuse to change topic. I also doubt your list of examples about Abyssea because you cannot make and upgrade empyrean weapons in one day. It takes at least a month or two of farming and killing NMs with a group of dedicated players. I guess you didn't know you can also upgrade Relic weapons to either.

    edit: I've proven you wrong twice with your weak speculation. equipment will get outdone by higher level, this is common in all mmo

    i am for a tiered pop system as well, lets you work for your progress and you wont be affected by stupid botters at all

    How about a sistem like beastmen stronghold in wotg ? A company conquest a zone, and they can access to an istanced battle until the zone is lost. Sure, this require to move people outside immortal flames...

    also, never again ffxi' nm. It wasn't fun racing against botters (and some nm had the worst pop condition ever created by human mind)

    Great ideas. It doesn't have to be zone wide either. I guess depending on how big the zone is, it just has to be a larger area. Buffalo/Uraeus/Dodore are good examples. They Spawn in a large enough area that even with a claim bot it might not spawn anywhere near you...

    Yeas, I hate the current claim system also...

    We actually got what we asked for but they also slid in the ability to attack MOBs claimed by others, even though I never saw anyone ask for this.

    The problems it caused
    Anything open world can now be super-zerged by as many people as you can muster. that was pretty much Yoshi saying he had no regard or serious plans for any open world NMs. You can zerg a stronghold with 40 people and clear it easily in minutes... but whats the ultimate reward? a "chance" at a cuirass that isn't worth using? Mask of the Mortal Hex?

    Being Able to attack MOBs already claimed is one of the biggest things hurting this game. It works against the abolishment (I guess firefox doesn't think "Abolishment" is a word) of PLing and also against the idea of new open world NMs

    You hit the nail on the head... but it's more than just Bots
    Even without BOTs... straight claim wars are not entirely fair...
    For starters... all internet is not equal...
    Now you can build a better PC... but you can't build yourself a better internet..
    Imagine telling someone they can never participate in a certain piece of content because Comcast sucks? That doesn't really promote or encourage the widespread acceptance of this game that SE is going for.

    I love the idea of HNMs... but a three day spawn would hurt this game, especially if it gave some item everyone wanted.

    Casual players want to be able to do everything a hard core player can, which is fine, as long as they accept the fact that it will take them much MUCH longer (Obviously relative to play time) to accomplish the same feats.

    Contrary to that... 72 hour spawns represent content that a casual person may NEVER participate in. It alienates very large portions of the community.

    Hardcore content should be the carrot on the stick for the casual gamer

    So if you play 40 hours a week, you accomplish some great task in a couple weeks, whereas Mr 5 hours a week takes 4-5 months to do the same thing.
    But a 72 hour spawn means Mr 40 hours a week with a great internet connection and no job can get the pop in 3 days... and Mr Casual 5 hours a week will NEVER get it...
    You promote unfair gameplay. Even though Bots will always exist... In this capacity you give them an opportunity to shine... You give them an opportunity to directly affect someone else's gameplay.
    When someone bots crafting... they don't directly affect your gameplay... That relates to your gameplay in a very indirect way....

    long open world HNM pops work counter to that

    They could do it so that you have to quest for an item that must be worn or else the nm would kill you every time, maybe after the item is used a few times it breaks and you need to get another. This would add a level of complexity to the fight!
