Computer seizing during gameplay

Seemingly at random, both my monitors will go to a single color and my audio will repeat one audio note forever. It occurs each time I play, usually within an hour of starting. There is no error message, and no Event Viewer event besides the unexpected power cut. I've changed the video settings, reinstalled the game, updating my graphics driver, and nothing fixes it. This is the only video game that crashes my computer like this. My computer used to run the game perfectly around the launch of Shadowbringers, but now I've reinstalled and its acting up like this.
My problem is just like this thread.
I've resorted to trying to play on my laptop, but I am getting error messages when I try to install. I will make a separate thread for that issue.

When exactly did this start happening? Do you recall anything changing/updating on your PC that coincides with this?

Can you submit a Final Fantasy XIV system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

This started happening immediately after I reinstalled the game, on the 15th. The last I played on this desktop computer was about a year prior, and it worked fine.

Good afternoon and thank you for posting on the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

We would like to recommend several troubleshooting steps:

1) Make sure that your hardware is not overheating and remove any overclocks you may have on your graphics card or processor. Please check that any fans or vents are clear of blocks.
2) Disable any additional programs that could cause interference with the game itself including chat programs. Also, remove any custom configurations made using graphics driver-level programs.
3) Turn off Fullscreen Optimizations. Find the executable file for the game (normally found in the install folder), right-click it and select 'Properties'. Under the 'Compatibility' tab, check the box labeled 'Disable Fullscreen Optimizations', then click 'Apply'.

Unfortunately, the description of the issue does lean toward a hardware issue rather than an issue with FINAL FANTASY XIV. As such, we would recommend using different a different monitor and see if the issue persists there.
