Gender Specific Mogstation purchases

I'm not even sure if this is the right place, but after sending in a request for support the response was literally "We can't help you, ask on the forums."

I purchased gender-locked mogstation items when my character was male. Since then, I have fantasiaed to female. These items have female equivalents.

Can I swap them for the female versions?

A follow up if I can't, why? I'm not asking for free items; take the male versions away and don't give me access to them. But I've paid $30+ for both of these sets together and to just be out that money because I wanted to play a different gender is super... Not Cool.

I think there's an NPC in each citystate that you can trade them in for the opposite equivalent if there is one. Something like the Calamity Salvager or something like that.

Try the Calamity Salvager. There's one in every major City-State (ARR only I think) and there's also a permit you can buy to have one in whatever housing you may have.

You can only swap certain things, pretty much nothing past Heavensward release I think, but that's where to do it.

I've spoken with the Calamity Salvager, but the number of items available to trade are incredibly limited.

The sets I got were Thancred's Modding (Y'shtola's Moddish would be the fem equivalent) and the Far Eastern Noble (Far Eastern Noblewoman that one's equivalent).

When I was googling for an answer, I found a post mentioning you could swap Lightning's attire for Snow's, and vice versa, but I can't find even where that can be done so I don't know if that was false or has now been removed.

This is only true for certain items but not for any mog purchase as far I'm aware. Pretty much you have to buy the female version.

To my knowledge the only ones you can change from male to female, or vice-versa, are the event items. Other than that, you are S.O.L

I think the moral of the story here today is: think twice before altering your gender.
